Day 4 of Egypt: Joseph's Journey was another action-packed day. Today our explorers discovered that the pyramids were built LONG before Joseph ever arrived in Egypt, and they built their own to learn the science behind them! In Recreation, we played Capture the Treasure and learned that forgiveness isn't just a rule to follow, it's a gift God gives us first. Our artists wove colorful baskets and discovered that God weaves even the hard parts of our lives into something beautiful. And in Bible Time, we learned what happened when Joseph met his brothers and had to choose forgiveness. We learned a new song, "You Forgive Me," and about Jesus made forgiveness available to every single one of us. One more day left, and we can't wait to see how the journey ends!

Free fun family event SUNDAY starting at 11:15am. All are welcome:)

Goats to greet and camels to meet, it's a petting zoo on Granville Street! On Sunday, 6/28 starting at 11:15 AM - 1:15 PM, Mifflin Presbyterian Church will be hosting a free petting zoo!

There will be farm animals like chickens, ducks, sheep, and goats PLUS more exotic critters like a camel, an alpaca, and a mini donkey!

Attendants will manage the animals and offer friendly answers to questions. The animals will be safely enclosed, and grain will be provided for feeding.

Note that this is a family event. Children are expected to be accompanied and supervised by the adults who bring them. Ample parking is available in the church lot at 123 Granville Street, Gahanna

Day 3 at Egypt VBS was full of discovery! Our explorers dug into the world of ancient Egypt, learning how hieroglyphics worked and how only specially trained scribes could read and write. We connected that to Joseph, whose God-given wisdom opened doors helped provide during a famine in Egypt. In Recreation, we played Follow the Pharaoh and talked about where true wisdom really comes from. Our artists created letter bead bracelets to carry a word of wisdom with them everywhere they go. And in Bible Time, we landed on our big point for the day: God gives us wisdom. Just like Joseph, we can trust that God's wisdom is available to us too. What a day!

During Day 2 of Egypt: Joseph's Journey, we discovered that God gives us special abilities, just like he gave Joseph the ability to interpret dreams and lead all of Egypt.

Kids competed in Egyptian team relays, made papyrus paper, carved their names in hieroglyphs on clay cartouche necklaces, and worshipped together with our new song "The Lord's Plans."

Shoutout to Jen for her excellent job decorating the palace, marketplace and prison!!! We're so blessed to have so many wonderfully talented teachers and volunteers!

Day 1 of Egypt: Joseph's Journey is in the books! Here is what our kids were up to today: Our Bible Point was "God gives us hope" -- and we dove into Genesis 40:1-23, where Joseph interprets dreams for fellow prisoners, trusting God even from a prison cell.

We learned our theme song "One True God," watched a skit about hope, explored the land of Egypt with a hands-on archaeological dig, made bejeweled Egyptian collars, and survived Temple Impossible (the floor was lava!).

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

Thank you to every volunteer who cooked, delivered, and/or served food for GRIN’s Summer Lunch Program, June 15-18 and for all who baked or brought cookies! Over just 4 days, we served a total of 844 meals to kids and their families in the Gahanna-Jefferson School District. Our church is blessed with many dedicated volunteers for this important mission.

VBS is just a few days away! As we finish our final preparations to welcome our children and families for Egypt: Joseph's Journey from Prison to Palace, we invite the entire church family to join us in prayer. Ask God to move in the hearts of our kids this week, and in the hearts of their parents and caretakers too. May this be a week that draws families closer to one another and deeper into relationship with God, right here in our own congregation and beyond.
