đź”´ THE OHIO ENERGY INVESTIGATION HAS GOTTEN BIGGER
The Chair of the Ohio Senate Energy Committee owns oil and gas companies that bid on state contracts his committee oversees.
The Chair of the Ohio House Energy Committee is the CEO of an energy contracting company and personally championed a nuclear deal worth hundreds of millions — for companies that donate to his campaigns — using his official Ohio House press release.
An ethics complaint was filed against the Senate chair in January 2026.
The oversight committee had 14 days to act.
They did not act.
We are filing public records requests for every orphan well contract, every PAC donation, and every piece of legislation these two men touched while their companies benefited.
This is the same state that gave us the HB6 $1.3 billion energy bribery scandal.
Patterns matter.
đź”´ A JOURNALIST WAS ARRESTED AT THE STATEHOUSE
This week. Monday. D.J. Byrnes — founder of The Rooster newsletter — was handcuffed at the Ohio Statehouse while attending a public hearing. Taken to Franklin County Jail for 23 hours. For a first-degree misdemeanor involving two text messages and a Shrek meme sent to a state senator.
The senator said he did not request the prosecution.
The court records appeared in a political rival’s hands before they showed up in the official court system.
I am not saying Byrnes is innocent. Sending unsolicited content to a subject of your reporting is not journalism.
That line was crossed 🤞
And.
A misdemeanor prosecution initiated without the alleged victim’s request, with court records surfacing in a political rival’s hands first, for a journalist who covers the people who would benefit from silencing him — in Ohio, with Ohio’s history — deserves every question we are asking.
We are filing the records requests today.
đź”´ THE GOVERNMENT BOT NETWORK STORY.
The US military got caught running over 150 fake social media accounts. AI-generated faces. Fake news portals. Fake independent media outlets.
The exact playbook they told us to watch out for from Russia.
Twitter knew. Whitelisted the accounts. Said nothing.
The Pentagon ordered an internal review. Which is government for “we got caught, everybody act normal.”
Then there was a lawsuit. Murthy v. Missouri. It reached the Supreme Court. The Court ruled 6-3 — not that the government acted properly — but that the plaintiffs couldn’t prove they were specifically harmed. So the constitutional question of whether the government can secretly pressure platforms to silence Americans is still.
Not. Answered 🤫
Mark Zuckerberg wrote to Congress confirming the pressure campaigns were real.
Nobody went to prison.
Your algorithm is still running.
đź”´ WHAT ELSE IS IN THE WORKS.
I am a pre-law student at Liberty University pursuing Constitutional Government. I am turning the bot network and free speech research into an academic project that may eventually become something bigger.
I am in early conversations with some genuinely exciting technology companies — including one doing open-source humanoid robotics that I think you are going to find fascinating. That story is coming.
I am also connecting with community leaders across Central Ohio including veterans organizations doing real grassroots work that deserves attention.
The Sentinel Report website — TSRColumbus.org — is being built properly. Not rushed. When it launches it will be a full civic accountability newsroom. Every investigation. Every FOIA document. Every source cited.
We Watch the Code is becoming something real.

Here is what I need from you right now.
If you live in Columbus and you have noticed anything about your energy bill, your neighborhood’s surveillance cameras, or government decisions that don’t add up — message me. That’s what the tip line is for.
If you work in tech, law, energy, or local government and you want to talk — message me.
If you just want to share this so the right people see it — share it. That is genuinely the most powerful thing you can do right now.
I do this because I care. I do this because I genuinely believe an informed community is a protected one. And I do this because when the system knocked on my door and tried to take everything from me — I decided the right response was not to go quiet.
It was to get louder.
With documents.
TSRColumbus.org coming soon.
Tip line: [email protected]
An informed community is a protected one.
