Greetings: it has been a time since FFD are over, all in all things went well, and now plans for 2022 are on the agenda, if you get a newsletter you will see many events scheduled for 2022, mark your calendar if not here are a few: Open house weekend will be July 31, 2022, Music weekend is planned for July 16th & 17, there will be tea parties in June, July & August, Watch the main web site for dates when they are set up, Teamwork & Timbers will meet August 27, 2022 this is a great time to take your child to help build the way olden days was done, call Rose at 989-444-9574 and of course the boys are still working on Mondays thereis always a need for volunteers, check it out & see if you are interested in helping, also again for a $5 fee you can receive the newspaper & get more info ,🙋

People are still requesting to be married at the Octagon, just got word that Len & Sandy Klosowski were the first couple married there on October 6, dont know what year, Congratulations folks, to my knowledge everything is shut down except for volunteers on monday, you can call Tammy at 865 297 6475 if you are interested in the future, much volunteer work is still going on, you can drive by and see the grounds

Asphalt was used instead of tin as it is a museum and wanting to keep it as it was in early days, like the original, walking around the area you can see that is the idea to keep it as it was built, in the early yrs, school tours is a great time for the children to see how things were, that they will not see in many other places

Some info on the Octagon Barn-- it's 70 ft high, 102 ft across, three floors, but only 2 floors are accessible, Mrs Cora Purdy called it Jim's air castle, each octagon side is 42 & 1/2 feet wide, week end after Labor day will be (FFD) Fall family days, Friday starting a 4PM is fish fry put on by the best fish friers in the thumb, if u don't believe that, come and join in , all buildings and equipment will be in full operation on Sat & Sunday, with approx, 15,000 visitors on the grounds on those 2 days
