Talk to Me Cherokee

Talk to Me Cherokee Talk to Me is a local partnership that provides early language and literacy services to Cherokee County families with young children.

Our program options include LENA Home (birth to 4 years old) and LENA Start (birth to 3 years old). Both options are free and include incentives for the families and weekly books for your child to keep. Our partner organizations include Cherokee County School District, Piedmont Community Action Head Start/ Early Head Start
Cherokee County First Steps, Cherokee County Public Library, LENA, United Way of the Piedmont, Spartanburg Community College, i(cs), and Limestone University.

FREE ADMISSION TO ALL SC STATE PARKS - Friday, November 28, 2025!

This year on Black Friday, we challenge you and yours to and enjoy South Carolina's state parks.

Admission will be free at state parks in South Carolina on Friday, November 28 -- including tours at our three historic homes. The promotion encourages people to spend some time in the great outdoors the day after Thanksgiving!

Tour capacity is limited. Reservations can be made online for historic home tours starting Monday, November 10, at 9am:

Rose Hill Plantation at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m
Redcliffe Plantation at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.
Hampton Plantation at noon and 2 p.m.

We hope to see you in a South Carolina State Park!
