Today we celebrated the end of another successful tax season, but I forgot to take a picture of our fabulous volunteers 🫣 I can still brag!
This year, 40 volunteers successfully filed 2200 federal tax returns (this doesn't include all of the people who didn't need to file); included in these returns are 3216 people, $2,809,281 in refunds AND approximately $483,780 was saved by these people in tax prep fees.
This program is provided with funding from the IRS, Etowah County Commission, and United Way of Etowah County; space provided by local municipalities; AND from people like you helping us spread the word!
One more thing - while accurately prepared free tax preparation is the main goal, these volunteers also provide financial education and tax education along the way.

Jenifer was an Advisory Council member for RSVP for many years. Her knowledge and advocacy for the seniors of Etowah County will be sorely missed and hard to replace.

Tomorrow is the last day to file your tax returns! We will have 2 locations open to help you do that: Etowah County Courthouse Room 221 beginning at 11:00, and Rainbow City Community Center beginning at 11:30. Both locations operate on a first come/first served basis, so don't wait too long!

Our last day to prepare taxes is Wednesday, April 15th. Preparers will be in Rainbow City (at the Community Center) and in Gadsden (at the Courthouse, Room 221). We will be at the Courthouse Monday & Tuesday also - don't wait!
