The amazing owners of Aspire Home Enhancements & Repair, LLC, a local home improvement company came out yesterday for their meet & greet with Amanda! These wonderful ladies have sponsored our sweet Amanda for 2026 and we are immensely grateful! Their sponsorship ensures we can provide food & medical needs to Amanda and continue our mission! We only have 1 goat left to be sponsored in 2026! Our sweet, older girl Courtney has been patiently hoping someone wants to be her “Guardian of the Goat” this year! Courtney is the twin sister of Sophia, and the awesome Aunt of our fabulous, Mishka! Courtney has a hernia but is too old to undergo surgery, so she lives in our main field so she has less stress keeping up with the large herd. Today we hosted the sweetest group from Sage Crossing - a nonprofit memory care day camp! The goats loved all of the treats, brushies, and cuddles! This is one of our favorite events to host because the giggles and smiles are just heartwarming 🥰

Seeking hay delivery help! We are looking for someone with a truck and large trailer who can help us transport 200 bales of hay from a farm in Fuquay Varina to our sanctuary (about 10 miles). We can pay $250 and have helpers load and unload. Hoping to have this done this coming Monday (Columbus Day)! Please let us know if you have a transport system and can help! Thank you so much!!

It’s true! Their upper front mouth is just a pallet. They have bottom teeth for ripping grass and leaves, but no top! They have upper and lower molars in the back for crushing everything up though!

NON-PROFIT BOARD MEMBER SEARCH
Smith Farm Goat Sanctuary is seeking two new Board Members. The following working board positions are available: Vice President and Executive Officer/Secretary. We have included links to the Role Descriptions and Application below. Please know that the expectations listed are what we are striving to reach SOMEDAY. Perfection is not expected from day one. We hope to be able to grow into the roles together, learning along the way. So if you are passionate about animals, want to work with some amazing women, and have been looking for an opportunity to grow as a leader then take a moment to check us out!

Each officer will lead a Paddock of volunteers and take ownership of work that will significantly help our goats and sanctuary thrive! These are active leadership roles, with an expected commitment of approximately 25–30 hours per month for a two-year term beginning November 1, 2026. A majority of the work required can be done remotely. Please read the role descriptions and, if you’re ready to lead and follow through, apply by October 20, 2026. We’d love to hear what you could bring to the team!

Please note that our board member roles are not paid positions; however, we truly hope to one day be able to expand our staff to include more paid positions, such as Events Manager, etc. Hoping our new board can help us reach these goals!

Our sweet, shy girl Buttercup got to meet her amazing sponsors yesterday!! Kim & Ric came out to our Scoops & Hooves night and brought her some celery and cucumbers to let her know she is special! We were so happy for Miss Buttercup because she doesn’t get much love being older and super shy! But she had a great night and we are so grateful to her sponsors for spoiling her!!
