This afternoon I stopped by “Homeless Herm’s” setup on the road behind the Sheetz in Fuquay (401 & Banks Rd) to buy a copy of his first book “Feral Transgressions”! Herm and his sweet poochie, Mishka were fun to meet and I had him autograph the book for me and the goats! He uses the funds to help pay for life expenses, which I think is awesome. Excited to read the book! Its the first of a 3 book series and costs $15! Hope others stop by to say hello to this kind man, meet Mishka (I told him we have a goat named Mishka 🥰) and grab a copy! Great way to help a member of our community!!

Please join us in congratulating our August 2026 Volunteer of the Month, Kata!! We met Kata back in 2024 when opening our new sanctuary bank account! She was our account specialist and I told her about the new goat sanctuary down the street. She told us she would love to volunteer and sure enough a few months later, she became one of our very first and incredibly reliable volunteers! 😻 For the past 2 years, Kata has been an amazing asset to the sanctuary and our herd! Most recently, she and her family came out and built 4 picnic table kits, she handmade 2 old fashioned looking but super sturdy chalkboards for our new concession stand, and is actively applying for grants to help us raise funds for our perimeter fence replacement as part of our grant team!! She is easily one of the sweetest, most soft spoken, and dear friend to us! She can be found at many of our events as a sweet, steady force for the goats! We adore and are so grateful to Kata for being a part of & helping us since almost day 1! Thank you so much, Kata, from the bottom of our hearts and hooves!!
