Saints and Aints was a fun experience and a great way to spend a Saturday! A big thank you to the members that helped and volunteered for Manifest’s productions, run and walk, and booths! Also for the members who showed up to support as well! The lineup for Manifest’s Juneteenth programming included Dasan Ahanu’s production of Saints and Aints. It included song,spoken word, puppetry, movement, and don’t forget the joy! A program based on the poetry: “A Month of Sundays: A Journey through Black Southern Christianity”. It was energetic and situationally astute. Music and spoken word that covered many of the world’s problems. It gave explanations and information for thought for all people. A great way to spend a Saturday evening! gfwc_hq GFWC of NC

Pine Acres Community Center will be providing free summer lunches all summer for youth (ages 0-18) Monday-Friday from 12:30PM-1:30 pm starting June 23, 2025. No registration or sign up required. Youth will have to eat lunches on site but everything is free and will will be offering activities while they eat on various days. Please share and spread the word to all parents, caregivers, and neighbors. We want to make sure no kid goes hungry this summer. The Manifest Health & Resource Fair offered an afternoon filled with massages, blood pressure checks, health food information, and more! There were also workshops for kids in numerous topics like Science Technology and Mathematics, DJing, Painting (graffiti style), Beats, and more! A great way to engage youth! A member of Fuquay-Varina Woman's Club helped plan the Manifest Walk and Run on Saturday morning. Several members took part in a yoga and TaiChi event to stretch before the event, then our members walked (and ran) the course, and all of us had a great time. It’s a great way to celebrate Juneteenth and freedom. We are not truly free until we are all free. Everyone should be “free to be me”. All should have equal justice and equity. Pine Acres Community Center needs our help! They have urgent needs to help feed kids. They are assembling grocery bags to give to families with kids who need the extra help. Pine Acres is in need of individually packaged items listed in the pink list below. Members of volunteered and attended the original play “Freedom to What”, a production of Manifest (Fuquay-Varina) for Juneteenth! The play was all around amazing and the singing on point. To take part in more Juneteenth festivities, follow the link for another play on Saturday, a walk and run, and information on STEM, finances and building generational wealth among others! It will be a full day of fun! (Please sign up for the events so preparations can be made for all attendees. ) it is sure to be a fun day of celebrating and committing to freedom for all, justice for all, and equity for all.
