FULTON SUNRISE ROTARY HEARS ABOUT “PROJECT LIFESAVER”

From left, Rotarian and rescue team member Dennis Merlino, Janet Clerkin of the rescue team and Rotary Club President Kevin Kovacs.

Leaders of the all-volunteer Oswego County Pioneer Search and Rescue team explained the benefits of “Project Lifesaver” at a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting. “Project Lifesaver” helps quickly locate missing people with cognitive problems. Participants wear a transmitter on their wrists or ankles. Trained rescue team members use a radio receiver to locate the transmitter, cutting the time to find most missing people by many hours or even days.

Sunrise Rotary meets every Friday at 7 a.m. at Mimi’s Drive-In and can be followed at https://www.facebook.com/fultonsunriserotaryclub/.
