At our regular meeting this morning, KCA (Kingdom Christian Academy) came to update us on the progress of the new school building they are building in Fulton. They have classes for K-8th currently. Tammy Wickham, the outgoing administrator was accompanied by Jimmy Moore the new administrator.

Congratulations to our member Daniel Backer on being in the Leadership Program with the Callaway County Callaway Chamber of Commerce & Visitor's Center.

Meet Daniel Backer, Financial Planner at Smith Moore 👏

Raised on a farm near Fulton, Daniel learned the value of hard work and service early on, values that continue to guide his approach to helping families navigate important financial decisions with empathy and integrity.

After earning his degree in financial planning and business administration from Westminster College, Daniel now lives near Millersburg, where he remains actively involved in Callaway County.

In his free time, he enjoys s***t shooting, attending concerts, and participating in choral programs.

At our regular Wednesday meeting, our speaker was Scout Payne, Executive Director of the Fulton Public Schools Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to help provide services to the Fulton Public Schools

It is with great pride and honor that the Fulton Breakfast Optimist have been notified that our long-time member Mr. Ken Niemeyer is to receive the Eye of the Tiger Award from the University of Missouri - Columbia.

Ken Niemeyer, a past president of the board of the Callaway County Chapter of the Mizzou Alumni Association, will receive the Eye of the Tiger Award during the Tiger Twilight banquet on June 4, 2026 at the Meadow Lake Country Club. Mr. Niemeyer, a retired Callaway Bank Vice President, earned a B.S. in Agriculture and a Master's in Education from MY and is also a School of Banking graduate. He joined the board in 1999 and served 26 years, including two terms as treasurer, three years as secretary, a year as vice president, and two years as president of the Callaway County Chapter of the Mizzou Alumni Association.
