I had the pleasure of spending the day with my good friend Marc Whitt, Director of Media & Strategic Relations at the University of Kentucky. As part of of UK's "Advancing Kentucky Together Network" Initiative, Marc wanted to see first-hand the attributes of and opportunities for economic development in Fulton and Hickman Counties. We made a roundhouse tour of the Twin Cities, Clinton, Columbus, and Hickman.

Members of the WAVE Leadership Group visited Hickman County on May 21 to tour OH Ingram Bourbon (hosted by Hank Ingram) and Columbus-Belmont State Park. We enjoyed an outstanding meal prepared by Tina Cunningham at The Belmont and learned more about the Purchase Area Development District and United Way of West Kentucky from Mattea Mitchell and Kelly Channell respectively.

I had the privilege of hosting the 2026 Class of Leadership West KY in Fulton & Hickman Counties for tours of Kayser Automotive Systems USA in Fulton; Ingram Bourbon in Columbus; Columbus-Belmont State Park; a stellar lunch at The Belmont in Columbus, and finally a visit with Paige Dennis at Joann's in South Fulton. We ended our day at The Meadows in Fulton, where owner Jeff Campbell shared the history and mission of his unique and exceptional boutique hotel.
