Congressman James Comer Secures Over $4 Million in Funding for Hickman County Industrial Development Authority Business Commerce Building Project

Editor’s note: As noted in last weeks Times, the HCIDA is also looking into a separate project involving demolishing dilapidated buildings on court square and rebuilding. Public meeting sessions will be held for community input. The $4 million is for the Enterprise Park project. Enterprise Park is located between Oak Hill Country Club and Farmers Gin.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman James Comer (R-Ky.) announced that the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026 (H.R. 7148), recently passed by Congress, includes $4.05 million in federal funding to support Hickman County’s construction of a business commerce center at the local industrial park, helping attract new industrial development and economic growth. This funding bill now advances to the U.S. Senate for consideration. Congressman Comer led efforts in Congress to secure funding for the Hickman County Industrial Development Authority’s Business Commerce Building Project, which will promote local business retention and growth by providing a modern facility for businesses currently operating in deteriorating downtown structures.

“I’m proud to have worked with Hickman County leaders to secure federal funding that will support the construction of a new business commerce center, helping attract new industry and expand economic opportunities. Local businesses are the backbone of Hickman County and Kentucky’s 1st Congressional District, and I will continue advocating in Congress to support their growth and success,” said Congressman Comer.

“In Hickman County, we are grateful to Congressman James Comer for securing $4.05M in funding to construct eight new business offices in Enterprise Park in Clinton, Kentucky. This investment is a game changer for our community, as it will attract new opportunities, support economic growth, and enhance the quality of life for our community,” said Hickman County Judge Executive, Kenny Wilson.

Background:

Hickman County Industrial Development Authority (HCIDA) will utilize this funding to construct a business commerce center in the local industrial park to attract new industrial development and assist in retaining local businesses that are surpassing their current facilities. This project would provide an affordable option to these professional service providers, incentivizing them to locate to a developing area of the community and bolstering the econom
