Simonton’s Round Up Rodeo was a central stomping ground for Simonton, Fulshear, and Brookshire, towns who each shared a historic role in ranching. Because of its proximity and ties to the local community, it was also occasionally referred to as the Fulshear Rodeo. It welcomed visitors from across the world, including some rather well-known characters.
It's rodeo season in Houston. 🤠
When René Magritte visited Houston in 1965, Dominique de Menil took the artist and his dog Lou-Lou to the Simonton, Texas, rodeo.
Round up friends and family to take an art break at the Menil Collection. Admission is always free.
