Troop 1201 came together to support our Eagle Scout candidate as he completed his Eagle Project. He led his fellow Scouts in the construction of two owl boxes for his high school. Through careful planning and leadership, he guided the team in building the boxes and bringing his project to life.

The owl boxes have been installed on his high school campus and will help provide habitat for the local owls.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and effort to support this project. Great job by our Eagle Scout candidate and all the Scouts who helped make it happen!

Memorial Day at Loma Vista
Our Scouts had the opportunity to give back to the community by serving at Loma Vista Memorial Park during the Memorial Day weekend. Together, we visited the gravesites of veterans, cleaning and caring for their markers.
Each Scout had the chance to learn about a veteran's life and military service, clean the headstone, and place an American flag in remembrance of their sacrifice and dedication to our nation.
This meaningful experience helped our Scouts gain a deeper appreciation for those who have served and reminded us all of the importance of honoring their legacy.

It’s Camporee season, and our troop had the chance to camp alongside fellow units from across the Valencia District. The weekend was a tremendous success, filled with fun and teamwork. Our Scouts put their skills to the test in 10 exciting events and rose to the challenge.

Among the many ribbons they brought home, the achievement they’re most proud of is earning 1st Place Overall Troop Patrol.

Please join us in celebrating their outstanding effort and spirit. Way to go, Survivor Patrol!

Hello Scouters,
What an incredible adventure our Scouts had at Huntington Beach! As part of our preparation for the Epic Spring Break Colorado River Canoe Trek, the boys spent the day building and sharpening their canoeing skills.
They practiced paddling both independently and with partners, working on teamwork, coordination, and control. They also had the opportunity to safely practice capsizing their canoes and flipping them back over — an important skill that builds both confidence and preparedness on the water.
It was a fantastic hands-on experience and a great step toward earning their Canoeing Merit Badge. I’m so excited to see them continue growing and putting these skills to use on our Colorado River adventure!
The countdown to is on!
Let’s Go!!!

Over the weekend, Troop 1201 partnered with the Order of the Arrow to support the Friends of the Fullerton Library book sale.
Our Scouts joined members from other local troops to help with cleanup after the event. They worked together to box up materials and break down displays at the library.
Service like this is an important part of giving back to our community. Great job Scouts, and thank you for supporting our local library!

Hello Scouters! 🌵🥾
Our young adventurers recently made their way to Joshua Tree National Park to hike the 37-mile California Riding and Hiking Trail—an unforgettable trek through the majestic Mojave Desert.
This is not your typical backpacking trail. There are no stream crossings to filter water from, so our incredible Trail Angels met us at designated points to resupply water and keep our scouts moving forward. The trek was a three-day backpacking adventure, covering roughly 13 miles per day, and it was designed for trail-ready scouts, not your Tenderfoot.
Along the way, our scouts experienced breathtaking views—vast desert landscapes, filled with iconic Joshua Trees and plenty of Cholla cactus (aka the Jumping Cactus). With near-perfect backpacking conditions, some scouts even cowboy camped under the stars, even with night time Temperatures dipping as low as 29 degrees. our scouts didn’t flinch.
With the right gear and the right mindset, your scoust can conquer anything.
This was an outstanding training hike as we prep for Philmont this summer.

Attention Scouters — please share!
An incredible opportunity may be ahead. Our local Crew 774 is looking for additional members to join an expedition to Antarctica. This is short notice, but truly a trip of a lifetime.
This expedition is open to registered Scouters, not limited to any one troop. Please feel free to share this post with other Scouters who may be interested.
If I didn’t have a day job, I’d be hanging out with the penguins too 🐧❄️

🌍 Welcome — We’re Going to Antarctica

Welcome to our new followers!
The purpose of this page is to share the journey of a once-in-a-lifetime expedition taking Scouts to Antarctica, one of the most remote, wild, and awe-inspiring places on Earth.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing about:
🐧 Wildlife we may encounter
🎒 What it takes to prepare for a polar expedition
🚢 Life aboard an expedition ship
🗺️ The route and places we’ll explore
❄️ Educational facts about the Antarctic region

This scientific expedition has been years in the making, and the opportunity to learn, explore, and witness this environment firsthand is incredibly rare. We look forward to bringing you along on our journey to the end of the Earth, whether you’re here out of curiosity, a love of nature, or a sense of adventure.

Hello Scouters!
It was time to give back to our local elementary school as we spent the evening hanging out with the kids at Hermosa. Our scouts helped welcome families to the Winter Festival, and while the program was getting ready, they stepped right in to entertain the students.
Just look at our scouts putting big smiles on so many little faces! The holiday cheer was truly felt by everyone. We’re proud of our scouts for serving our community and spreading joy this season.

Hello Scouters!
December is our beginner backpacking month. When we traveled up to our local mountains, we expected just that—a simple introductory backpacking trip. What we didn’t expect was that the mountain had other plans for us. Heavy November snows were still lingering, and the boys were completely surprised to find themselves backpacking in a true winter wonderland.
Even though this was a short trip, daylight was limited and there was an important task at hand: collecting firewood. The scouts had a blast gathering tinder and kindling, only to discover that all the wood was damp. With determination and teamwork, they still managed to get a fire going and enjoyed the ambience while toasting marshmallows—damp socks and all!
These are some amazing scouts, and I am incredibly proud of the hard work, they bring to every scouting adventure.
