북한을 단순한 적대국이나 동포 공간이라는 단일한 시각으로 보지 않고, 한민족의 공간이자 폐쇄적 독재국가, 고립 체제이면서 경제특구/관광지구를 운영하는 경계 공간, 특권 계급 중심의 전시도시 평양 등 모순된 성격이 중첩된 헤테로토피아적 공간으로 개념화했습니다.
☆인문지리학과 사회·장소심리학(점화 효과)의 융합
북한을 직접 방문하거나 인도적 지원 활동을 펼쳐온 재미교포 집단을 대상으로 심층 연구를 진행했습니다.
금강산, 평양(아리랑 공연), 영변(김소월의 시적 공간 vs 핵시설) 등 이중적 의미를 지닌 장소 자극을 통해 특정 방향으로 인식이 유도되는 점화 효과(Priming Effect)를 실증 실험으로 검증했습니다.
