save coyote hills Our mission is to save all of West Coyote Hills as a park and nature preserve for now and future generations. Our goals are to:

The Friends of Coyote Hills is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to save all 510-acres of West Coyote Hills as a park and nature preserve for now and future generations. We do this through advocacy, partnerships, and fundraising to acquire the land and its sustaining stewardship. Permanently protect a vulnerable habitat and sensitive species of animals
2. Restore and preserve a n

atural ecosystem that enhances climate resilience and improves water quality
3. Create an opportunity for public enjoyment of natural lands and trails in an underserved region of Southern California
4. Provide an educational resource for nearby schools and colleges

Established in 2001 as a fiscally sponsored 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are now an independent tax-exempt nonprofit known as the Coyote Hills Conservation Fund (doing business as Friends of Coyote Hills). Our Federal Tax ID (EIN) is 93-4623981.

Please support Proposition 4 to help .
Prop 4 will provide California with safe drinking water, wildfire prevention, drought preparedness and clean air. It has critical funding to save more of West Coyote Hills as a natural area in the Lower San Gabriel River Watershed.
Healthy watersheds provide carbon storage, flood control, increased biodiversity, water storage and filtration, and recreation. Natural open space can help reduce urban heat islands. In other words, saving West Coyote Hills helps to support a healthy community.

Great news! The Phase 2 acquisition is underway with more than 80% of funding raised. Phase 2 begins saving the land west of Gilbert/Idaho.
The initial acquisition on the east side of the site was completed at the end of 2021. Combined with past lands saved, about 218 acres of contiguous open space has been saved east of Gilbert/Idaho.
