Our 2026 Art Gala had a great kickoff reception this evening.

Come visit Books For Friends at The Lakes Mall tomorrow between 11-4 for the Art Gala. Vote for your favorite pieces of art by kids, teens, and adults. We also have a curated collection of new art books for sale-great treat for yourself or gift for the artist or art lover in your life.

Books For Friends will be open until 7pm.

🎃 OUR PUMPKIN PATCH IS GROWING AT BOOKS FOR FRIENDS! 🎃

Look at all these colorful, creative pumpkins made by our young guests! 🧡

Bring the kids in to decorate their very own pumpkin and add it to our growing pumpkin patch! 🎨 It’s a fun, FREE activity, and we love seeing what our artists create!

📚 While you’re here, browse our wonderful selection of gently used books! Most books are priced between 50¢ and $3, and every purchase supports the Fruitport District Library.

🚗 CONSTRUCTION BYPASS TIP: Avoid the possibility of any Sternberg/Harvey traffic backups! Take Pontaluna Rd to Quarterline Rd, head north to Mt. Garfield Rd, and take Mt. Garfield Rd west into the back of the mall parking lot near JCPenney. This route avoids the construction barrels.

📚 Remember your favorite childhood books, lunchbox, puzzles, and games? Help us bring those memories back!

We’re collecting donations for CHILDHOOD IN A BOX, our nostalgia fundraiser coming January 29–31, 2027!

We’re looking for:
📚 Pre-2000 children’s books
🧰 Vintage or nostalgic plastic or metal lunchboxes
🧩 Vintage children’s puzzles
🎲 Vintage kids’ and family games—especially games featuring favorite book, TV, and movie characters!

📚 We also happily accept current children’s books for Books For Friends—our children’s shelves need replenishing!

📍 Donations can be dropped off at Books For Friends in The Lakes Mall, Suite 1068, near the food court.

🕒 Drop-off hours:
Wednesday: 10 AM–7 PM
Thursday–Saturday: 11 AM–7 PM
