This past Monday, the troop enjoyed the challenge of building a shelter using only a limited amount of materials and supplies. It was great to see their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in action, along with many of the skills they have already been learning. We were proud of how they worked together, encouraged one another, and made the most of the challenge.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting on Monday at 7:00 PM at Crossroads Church of God.

This past weekend, the boys took part in an uplifting cold weather camping experience, cultivating and refining vital skills for their badges, while strengthening their camaraderie through engaging conversations and enjoyable fun.

This is about more than a skill, it’s about stewardship, responsibility, and character.

When boys are taught by godly men, they learn how to handle power with restraint, respect life, and serve others well. Skills matter, but so does the heart behind them.

This is why we do what we do.

Boys don’t need confusion, they need clarity, truth, and godly men willing to model it. Masculinity isn’t something to invent; it’s something to live out with purpose.

Sometimes the best thing for a boy is nothing scheduled at all.

Away from screens and constant noise, boys rediscover imagination, turning sticks into tools, creeks into projects, and the outdoors into a place of wonder. What starts as boredom becomes creativity, confidence, and connection.

This is why we value unstructured time in the outdoors. It’s in these simple moments that memories are made and character is quietly formed.

Proud to be part of Trail Life-where faith, adventure, and growth happen naturally.

This year, we’re celebrating 250 Years of Freedom. There will be fireworks, speeches, and parades. But freedom didn’t start with fireworks. It was forged by men of character—men of faith, conviction, courage, and sacrifice.

John Adams stood firm with moral clarity. Washington knelt in reverence before he led in strength. Patrick Henry dared to speak with boldness when silence was easier.

And now, we must ask a hard question:
Are we raising sons capable of carrying that legacy forward?

At Trail Life USA, we believe America’s future doesn’t hinge on louder politics or better slogans—but on boys becoming godly men. Men who will one day lead churches, raise families, defend truth, and serve with humility.

That’s why we’re launching Sons of Liberty, Sons of Legacy—a year-long journey to reclaim the virtues that built a nation and raise up the young men who will sustain it.

Each month, we’ll focus on a founding father and how he exemplified a virtue we need to reclaim. From conviction to courage, from justice to wisdom, we’ll celebrate the legacy we’ve inherited—and the Trailmen rising to carry it forward.

This story hits close to home.

So often it starts with a simple desire to show up for our sons, and God uses that obedience to grow something far bigger than we imagined. One yes at a time.

Grateful to be part of Trail Life USA, where God is shaping fathers, strengthening families, and raising the next generation of godly leaders.

“I just wanted to be there with my son. God turned it into so much more.”
– Jonathan, Trail Life Leader

Jonathan never imagined himself leading from the front. Public speaking? Not his thing. Teaching and guiding other families? Way outside his comfort zone.

But God had other plans.

“God kept putting me in situations where I had to step up,” Jonathan says. “One small ‘yes’ at a time—first as a dad, then as a leader—I grew in faith, courage, and vision. Eventually, that vision led me to plant a new Troop at my home church.”

Today, Troop MS-0725 is alive with purpose. Boys are being equipped. Families are being strengthened. Men are rising to lead. What started as one dad showing up for his son is now multiplying across generations.

Trail Life is more than campouts and badges.
It’s where God forms leaders.

We want our boys to shine for Christ, not for attention, but so others may see God at work through them.

Matthew 5:16 reminds us that faith is meant to be lived out, not hidden. This is what we strive to model and teach in our troop.

My Son, "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."
