Statistics show that more than 78% of high school students desire to go to college. In today’s economy even more working adults desire to go back to college and earn their degrees to make a better life for their families. Students from low-income families are the most vulnerable populati
on when it comes to getting a post-secondary degree. Many working adults who are underpaid are realizing they simply cannot provide for their families without post-secondary education. But many also find the process daunting, the financial obligations insurmountable and are left shaking their heads and wondering how they will survive. P&P’s goal is to help lessen the disparity of education and prosperity in the communities between low-income and high-income families. When you become a P&P client, a P&P mentor becomes that liaison between you and the resources needed to attend college. We assist with the daily tasks of helping to understand the application process, finding grants to alleviate financial burdens, offering tutoring to assist with SAT/ACT preparation, GED assistance and overall life-skill training from computer workshops to etiquette training to interviewing preparation. P&P wants to be that source of hope, rejuvenation and empowerment. At-Risk Youth
The high school dropout rate is steadily increasing at an alarming rate. Providing a mentor with an at-risk youth increases their chances of graduating from high school and attending college. P&P is committed to help these young people become better people. We want to empower them with character-building skills and life training. Each youth receives a personalized mentor who will assess their needs. The mentor will work with parents to help ensure the principles and guidance we provide will be reiterated at home. We have learned there are no lost causes…there are only lost souls seeking mentorship and a helping hand. Sometimes all it takes is one person to take an interest that makes the difference between the streets and a college education. Our goal is to partner with the community to get our children off the streets and into the college classroom. With your help, we can reach those seemingly lost causes and empower them to become productive citizens, paying it forward and helping others in need. P & P offers at-risk youth life coaching, mentoring, guidance, career counseling and so much more. P& P sees our youth and understand people need people. We are there from their beginning and want to be there at their successful end. Our goal is to have P& P alumni who come back, give back, and pay it forward. P& P currently service five (5) case studies. They are young people just entering high school. We will follow them and assist with tutoring, career counseling and help them find the right path…whether it be college, vocational schools or entrepreneurship. Once a P & P client, always a P& P client! We never give up and we never stop lending a helping hand! Our Seniors
Elderly
Imagine you have worked hard all of your life only to come to retirement and find out your social security check does not cover your bills. A 401 K plan is nonexistent and you are left with mounting health care bills, high utility bills, no ability to pay for insurance and no way to get back and forth to the grocery store and most weeks no money for groceries. For many of our elderly this is their existence. Many have found they can get no assistance no matter where they go and are finally relegated to a nursing home alone and emotionally beaten and battered. This is no way for people who have built our country by the sweat of their brow to be treated. P & P offers assistance to the elderly by allowing them to maintain their dignity thru compassionate, hands on assistance in working with government agencies to get much needed resources, financial assistance to help pay rent, mortgages, etc., personal assistants to help with grocery shopping and everyday living and/or hire 24 hour nursing care so that many will be able to live out there last days in the comfort of their home.
