We welcome North Town of North Judson, Indiana as our newest Trail Town, and the first in the state! Congratulations to the town and members of the Prairie Trails Club for this designation.

Our Trail Town Initiative recognizes municipalities that support outdoor recreation and promote the trail. This program designates villages, towns, and cities of any size located on or near the American Discovery Trail as part of a growing network working to expand access to outdoor recreation and boost community visibility.

Although most of the focus this year has been on featuring people participating in the relay....there are still some long distance and section hikers out there doing their ADT thing!! Erik finished up in Ohio last week, Jaymes is in Maryland, and Pat Long continues his pursuit of the Buckeye Trail section. Carry on gentleman!!

🚨RELAY POSTPONED! Due to fires and excessive heat in eastern Utah and western Colorado, the AD250 Relay will be postponed, resuming August 29 in Leadville, CO on the original schedule. We had anticipated weather delays, and will plan to cover these and all gaps next spring so as to conclude all segments within the 250th year. These new dates will be posted after the main relay ends this November. In the meantime, we are STILL IN NEED of participants! Day 32...American Discovery 250 relay...August 4

The route today left the Posey Lake area and headed to Boulder, Utah. It involved the West Fork Trail, red rocks, and high cliffs. Relay coordinator Dave Whitson biked along Hell's Backbone, trying to appreciate the beauty while also holding tightly to the bike's brakes. This is not an area for a mishap! Happily, he traversed just fine...red and hot...but fine.

WANTED: GNARLY HIKERS or BIKERS on 9/1

We need somebody to cover this stage, Breckenridge to Montezuma. It's tough but the views are great. This day was originally intended for bicycles, it would be possible to split it in two if hikers wanted to take part of it.
