Our club President Terry Leckie and Kiwanis members -Barbara, Melanie, Wayne, Ed and Alan had the honor of serving breakfast to 150-200 Special Love - Camp Fantastic campers today before they headed home from their week. They said they had lots of fun but were tired and ready for their own bed. Our long time member Brenda Wells always headed up this event for the club :-)

Camp Fantastic is Special Love's hallmark program—a week-long, medically supported summer adventure for kids ages 7–17 who are within 5 years of cancer treatment (or 7 years post bone marrow transplant). With on-site medical care, campers can focus on what matters most: having fun. From canoeing and swimming to cooking, ropes courses, and sports, every activity is tailored to help kids rediscover joy, confidence, and friendship.

Teens enjoy exclusive programming and lodging, and 16–17 year-olds can join our LIT (Leaders in Training) group to grow their leadership skills.

Thank you to Scott Trivette – Manager of Volunteer Services for Valley Health for the awesome presentation to the club. He manages Warren, Wi******er and their 4 surrounding sister hospitals. Scott really loves working with their volunteers and helping people. One of their volunteers Lilian Sloan just celebrated her 100th birthday. He stated that the average age of their volunteers is 75-80. The Auxiliary started in 1953 but is slowly declining nationwide. They are looking for volunteers to dive their little shuttle bus in the afternoon from 1-4. He talked about their hospitality cart that provides free items to hospital patients like readers, socks, candy, etc. but the most requested item is a back scratcher 😊He said he gives all the credit to his then 13 year old daughter for getting him into volunteering :-)

It was an honor to be a gouda sponsor for tonight's Warren Coalition Let's get cheesy fundraiser. They put a lot of work into the event. Tons of yummy cheesy gooey goodness with lots of laughs :-)
