Faith Leaders Resolution

Whereas the three main Abrahamic faiths—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—believe in and worship the God Who created the heavens and earth in six days, created Adam and Eve, ordered Noah to build the ark, tested Abraham by ordering him to sacrifice his son, preserved Jonah inside the great whale, spoke to Moses at Mount Sinai and later gave him the Ten Commandments, established a peace covenant with the Israelites, and employed the angel Gabriel to deliver messages to various prophets,

Whereas Christians, Muslims and Jews are a realization of God’s prophecy to make of Abraham a great nation through Isaac and Ismael,

Whereas Christians, Muslims and Jews together make up over half of the world’s population, such that without peace and justice between these three religious communities, there can be no meaningful peace in the world and the future of the world largely depends on peace between Christians, Muslims, and Jews,

Whereas the overwhelming majority of Christians, Muslims, and Jews desire to live and let live in peace and recognize that all people of all creeds are the creation of God and intrinsically the same,

Whereas the three main Abrahamic faiths—Judaism, Christianity and Islam—believe in and preach similar virtues of compassion, forgiveness, generosity, kindness, respect, humility, fairness, justice, conscientiousness, consideration, ethics, truthfulness, gentleness, goodness, mercy, gratitude, helpfulness, hospitality, knowledge, mindfulness, moderation, modesty, morality, openness, peacefulness, piety, caring, service, sharing, sincerity, thoughtfulness, trustworthiness and unity,

Whereas the adherents of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam can challenge themselves to work together for world peace,

Whereas human civilization is moving towards greater interdependence, people around the world share a common information space, and mankind is turning into a global village in which human suffering and injustice in any region on Earth is communicated to the rest of the world and reaches and hurts fellow humans, regardless of faith, like one big family,

Whereas the current rift between peace-loving Jews, Christians, and Muslims living in the Western and Islamic nations can be attributed to widespread misconceptions, misinformation, ignorance, stereotyping, cultural gaps, communication barriers, differing social norms, conflicting national interests, and fear created by lack of understanding of other cultures, faiths, and nations and the evil doings of the few, the exceptional, and the misguided,

Whereas none of the three main Abrahamic faiths condones violence against the innocent in the name of God or country, and Christianity, Islam, and Judaism do not condone the murder, beheading, r**e, or bombing of innocent civilians, commission of genocide or crimes against humanity, desecration or bombing of houses of worship, displacing of nations, upholding of injustice or denial of anyone’s right to live in dignity and peace, and any theologian, scholar, imam, priest, rabbi, or other faith leader who proclaims that God condones any of the above is either not correctly interpreting the cited verses or scripture or cannot give absolute evidence that those verses or scripture are attributable to God,

Whereas faith leaders (Pastors, Priests, Imams, Rabbis, and others) are the key to world peace because they are role models for the faithful,

Whereas those who resist building bridges of love, compassion, and understanding between all cultures and faiths may have already contributed to the destruction, death, and suffering of millions of innocent children, women, and men.

Now, therefore, be it resolved that the undersigned peace-loving Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faith leaders shall effectively partner to inspire God’s peace in the world and to end violence and the killing and suffering of innocent victims who are hurt in the name of God or country.

The Judeo-Christian-Islamic Covenant, Inc. is an envisioned international peace organization based in the United States (shell organization is now incorporated in north Dallas Area and South Africa). Its members are indiscriminately compassionate Christian, Muslim, and Jewish faith leaders who span the globe and have made a covenant before God, their congregations, and all nations to inspire God’s transcendent peace. Their mission is to bring an end to the victimization of the innocent of all faiths, all nations, all races, all skin colors, and all ethnicities, whether violated in the name of God or Country. Building on the principles of shared Abrahamic beliefs, values, and virtues, this emerging partnership of faith leaders from across the religious spectrum—conservative, moderate, and liberal—and of all denominations sign a covenant to inspire common causes in their respective congregations and denominations. The peace-making partners will network, coordinate, and communicate via the Internet to publish covenant articles (pledges and common causes), negotiated objectives, and report on independently verified achievements. To strengthen this partnership, participating churches, mosques, and synagogues around the world will be paired with counterparts in the other faith groups, even including partnerships between the Vatican, Grand Mosque in Mecca, and various holy shrines in Jerusalem. Faith leaders inspire potentially billions of followers by appearing hand-in-hand before local, national, and international audiences to affirm their anti-violence stance and solidarity with all innocent victims, whom they mention by name. Faith leaders offer community inclusion to the followers of other faiths in their locales by reading intercongregation messages in the name of The Judeo-Christian-Islamic Covenant and by participating in Covenant Sanctuary Peace Drills and Peace Maker Month campaigns. JCIC, however, does not offer multifaith/interfaith worship services. This partnership will provide a context for the cause of world peace. The JCIC organization will restructure and open invitations to other faiths once major milestones in grassroots Jewish, Christian, and Muslim relations are achieved. Initially, faith leaders and public figures (community leaders, celebrities, politicians, athletes, etc.) can endorse the covenant on www.jcic.org and JCIC will be open for membership when enough endorsements are collected.

JCIC manages the making and ex*****on of an online living covenant (faith-inspired agreement.) JCIC member faith leaders (pastors, imams, and rabbis) or covenant signatories agree to coordinate the teaching and preaching of common causes that are derived from shared Jewish, Christian, and Islamic beliefs, values, and virtues. The objective is to achieve measurable short- and long-term grassroots peace alignment goals. Faith leaders work only within their congregations or denominations and in their own way to achieve these goals. The first proposed common cause is "Indiscriminate Compassion" where member faith leaders pledge to teach and preach indiscriminate love and compassion and to stand in solidarity with all victim children of all faiths, all races, all colors, and in all nations and regardless of whether the children are hurt in the name of God or country. The faith leaders coordination process (Common Cause and Vision Lifecycle or "CCV" - elaborated in the website) is the most critical component of JCIC strategy. Once fully automated (website and apps), CCV will resolve the three primary global faith leaders teaming challenges (Distance, Communication, and Trust) and will enable sincere peace-loving faith leaders who speak different language and live in different countries to effectively team up, plan, achieve common goals, and build trust. This new partnership will unleash the power of our peace-loving faith leaders' combined love and compassion and transform them into an enormous global power of good and inspire world peace. The vision is to have JCIC faith leaders recognized as peacemaking champions because of this joint effort in the year 2022.

DRAFT: JCIC Strategy to Inspire World Peace v2.00.
After the "Common Cause and Vision Lifecycle" (CCVL) evolved, I am updating JCIC strategy. The lifecycle is now a component of the strategy. CCVL resolves the three primary multifaith global grassroots teaming challenges (Distance, Communication, and Trust) and enables indiscriminately compassionate leaders who speak different language and live in different countries to effectively team up, plan, achieve common goals, and build trust.

Dallas Pastors Survey
The Purdue Policy Research Institute (PPRI) shortlisted “The Road Towards Vision 2022” submission to the final round of their global “Peacebuilding Big Idea Challenge”. Read more on https://covenantcentury.lpages.co/endorse-jcic/. The submitted concept calls for holding a peace competition between the pastors, priests, imams, and rabbis in one Christian-majority City against the same in another Muslim-majority City. Faith leader team in each city must fairly represent the faith/denomination communities in that city. The long term goal of this initiative is to save children of all nations, all faiths, all ethnicities, and all races from getting hurt, violated, or victimized in the name of God or country or any other cause. If participating faith leaders unanimously agree, the competition can be transformed into a reality TV show.

The objective of this survey is to explore the feasibility of selecting the Dallas-Fort Worth Area for the Christian-Majority city. Another survey is currently worked in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Muslim-majority).

THE ROAD TOWARDS VISION 2022
Let the Search for Faith Leader Heroes and Champions Begin

PROBLEM:
1. Peace-loving Christians, Muslims, and Jews are estimated to comprise more than 50 percent of the world population. Despite sharing many beliefs, values, and virtues, they are often unable to effectively work together for peace.
2. The culture of rationalizing human suffering in the name of God or country in the Muslim mainland, the USA, and Europe trivializes human suffering and large scale human tragedies in other nations.

OPPORTUNITY FOUND:
The overwhelming majority of our pastors, priests, imams, and rabbis are peace-loving and sincerely want to:
• Practice the divine love, compassion, and forgiveness they preach.
• Achieve the peace for which they pray (if only they knew how!)

THE SOLUTION:
Create a faith-inspired competition between the pastors, priests, imams, and rabbis in one Christian-majority city against the same in another Muslim-majority city (Dallas-Texas and Kuala Lumpur-Malaysia are proposed). The two sides will compete to realize a peace vision that is based on a shared divine humanitarian cause (e.g., indiscriminate compassion). Faith leaders who represent the two cities will jointly develop the vision and mission during a three to five days professionally managed vision-planning workshop. Afterwards, each denomination, faith, or sect will develop their own plans and SMART (Specific, Measureable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time Bound) objectives and execute them within their own adherents in their own way. Faith leaders representing the two cities would approve all SMART objectives and a professional organization will measure achievements and publish results on the Internet. A final awards grand event will be held to announce the positive changes, results, and winners.

IMMEDIATE BENEFITS:
1. Break isolation barriers between faith leaders in each city and build trust.
2. The competition and challenges will provide a context for the cause of world peace.

NOTES:
1. The humanitarian cause and vision must be scalable. The competition between the two cities serves as “Proof of Concepts” for a global initiative.
2. Engaging faith leaders, conservatives, and liberals in each city would be part of the challenge. This requires a plan and strategy of its own. The confined geographical area would make it possible for peace-loving communities to connect, build trust, and reach out and empower all other faith leaders in the city. Please note that older generations might not be Internet savvy and their engagement is important.
3. The competition in the two cities should not be simultaneous (one in 2019 and the other in 2020) but must be advertised together to assure maximum engagement. This will make it possible to focus on and resolve issues that are particular to each denomination/faith.
4. Competition will be equivalent to reality TV but is more like “reality Internet”.

The Purdue Peace Project (PPP) and the Alliance for Peacebuilding (AfP) are co-sponsoring a challenge funded by Milt Lauenstein to encourage innovative ideas on peacebuilding. The winner of this competition will earn a prize of $10,000 in recognition ...

Because some of our faith leaders are struggling with the definition of "innocent victims", JCIC will only address "children victims". The covenant is work-in-progress and nothing is carved in stone. It will be up to the faith leaders to finalize and approve covenant articles.
