Frisco Sunrise Rotary welcomed Rob Altman as Tuesday’s featured speaker. Rob is a graduate of Texas A&M University with 25 years of military service and accompanying education. He is currently a Vice President (Lead Business Ex*****on Consultant) with Wells Fargo and the Chairman of the Frisco Veterans Advisory Committee.

The focus of Rob’s presentation was the planned modifications to the Frisco Veterans Memorial. At present, the Frisco Veterans Advisory Committee (FVAC) is leading a fundraising effort to erect a Purple Heart Monument within the Frisco Veterans Memorial at Commons Park. FVAC’s goal is to raise $50,000 for the initiative.

The city of Frisco was designated as a Purple Heart City in September 2017. It is an expression of gratitude to the men and women of Frisco who were awarded the purple heart combat decoration designed to honor their selfless sacrifice and service defending the freedoms all Americans enjoy today.

Frisco Sunrise Rotary welcomed Christal Howard as Tuesday’s featured speaker. Christal holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas Tech University and was appointed as the President and CEO of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce in October 2023. Prior to the appointment, Christal held the position of Chief Operating Officer for the chamber.

The focus of Tuesday’s presentation was to provide an update on the existing, improving, and new activities the Chamber of Commerce is presently engaged in executing. Those activities align with it’s mission to protect and promote commerce through advocacy, resources, and connections.

A key Frisco area requiring chamber and community support and promotion is the Rail District which is undergoing a major transformation. It is essential for the community to patronize these businesses to minimize the construction impact.

Frisco Sunrise Rotary welcomed Todd Fouche as today’s featured speaker. Mr. Fouche is presently the Deputy Superintendent at Frisco ISD. Todd received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas A&M University and a Masters and Doctorate Degree from the University of North Texas.

The focus of today’s presentation was the four Frisco ISD propositions up for election on November 5. The Bond + VATRE(Voter Approved Tax Rate Election) 2024 proposed will enable the following:
- Allow Frisco ISD to keep providing student programs at the current levels.
- Allow Frisco ISD to maintain competitive salaries.
- Update HVAC, roofing, electrical, and plumbing systems districtwide.
- Enhance safety, security, and emergency services.
- Update surveillance cameras, servers, and alert systems 
- Update technology infrastructure to boost speed, connectivity, reliability, and security.
- Build a new Staley Middle School and repurpose the existing building for special education programs.
- Install artificial turf for baseball and softball fields seating less than 1,000.
- Update and replace buses for our students to ride to and from school.
- Build a new tennis facility to avoid renting outside space.

Frisco Sunrise Rotary welcomed Congressman Keith Self as the guest speaker on Tuesday. Congressman Self is currently the United States Representative for Texas’s 3rd Congressional District.

Keith accepted an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he began a 25 year career of service to the country. His military career included various international deployments and military recognitions. He retired with a rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Upon retiring from the army, Mr. Self was elected County Judge in Collin County Texas in 2006 and served for three consecutive terms before retiring in 2018. Keith has served as a U.S. representative since January 2023.

The focus of the congressman’s presentation on Tuesday revolved around the multitude of casework programs and events that his office executes in support of his constituents. Those activities, programs, and events include the following:

Frisco Sunrise Rotary welcomed Frisco Fire Chief Lee Glover as Tuesday’s featured speaker. Chief Glover began his career with the Frisco Fire Department in 1991 as a Firefighter/Paramedic. He advanced steadily through the ranks of Lieutenant, Captain, Battalion Chief, Deputy Chief of Operations, and Assistant Fire Chief of Emergency Services until his transition to Assistant Fire Chief of Support Services in 2018. And, in June 2023, he was named to the position of Frisco Fire Chief.

In addition to a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences awarded by Texas A&M Commerce, Chief Glover holds a variety of professional certifications through the Texas Commission of Fire Protection including Master Fire Fighter, and maintains certification as a licensed Paramedic through the Texas Department of State Health Services.

On Tuesday, Chief Clover provided the Rotary Club a departmental update that included the following :

Frisco Sunrise Rotary welcomed Tonye Lofton, JD. CEH as Tuesday’s featured speaker. Mr. Lofton serves as a principal cyber threat lead consultant with more than 15 years experience in active cyber defense and analytics. He obtained a law degree from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and is a Certified Ethical Hacker.

The focus of the yesterday’s presentation was on cyber security basics (i.e. threats, password security, recognizing scams, and safe browsing habits).

On Tuesday, Frisco Sunrise Rotary welcomed Eric Beshires, MD, MBA as the featured speaker. Dr. Beshires is a graduate of Texas A&M University School of Medicine with an MBA from the University of Texas Dallas. At present, he serves as a Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs for Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Centennial in Frisco Texas.

The focus of the presentation was to provide an update on the Baylor Scott & White (BSW) Medical Center under construction at the Northeast corner of Dallas Parkway and PGA Parkway. The new hospital will expand BS&W’s services while contributing to Frisco’s economy. The vision for the new Medical Center is to provide:
- Modern facilities for an underserved and growing market
- Tertiary academic hub for complex care
- Comprehensive physician network
- Customer-centric digital first approach to healthcare
- Forward-thinking leadership and tremendous community support
