On the first day of Camp Hope in Zambia, a teacher noticed something quiet but powerful.

While the other children ate, 8-year-old Mary began setting part of her meal aside. It wasn't for later. It was for her younger brother at home, who didn't have the kind of meal she was receiving at camp.

"She wanted him to also be part of the camp and enjoy the meals they have, because that's not the daily meal they have," her teacher shared.

Mary didn't stop after one day. She cut empty water bottles into small containers and, every day that week, carried food home so her brother wouldn't miss out.

Camp Hope is built on four pillars: the Word of God, family, compassion and the opportunity to grow. In Mary, her teacher saw all four come together, and a reminder that what children receive at camp can reach far beyond it.

Bishop Janet Hart didn't expect Camp Hope to change her whole congregation.But when members of Church of New Life in Livingstone served alongside orphaned children from their own community, something shifted.

In the weeks after camp, the church started showing up with blankets, clothing, food, school uniforms. When they heard about a pregnant orphaned girl who'd been at camp, the women surrounded her and provided what she needed for her baby. She wasn't even part of their church.

This is exactly why Orphan Sunday matters to us. It's not a date on the calendar, it's how the Church wakes up to God's heart for the orphan and turns conviction into ongoing, practical care. Camp Hope opens the door. Orphan Sunday helps the Church walk through it and stay.

When Clement entered our Family Homes in 2007, no one could have imagined where his journey would lead.

This year, he graduated with a Master's Degree in Economics from a university in India, after earning a full scholarship.

But his story is about more than academic success. It's what happens when a child is surrounded by faithful people who believe in God's plan for his life.

We don't just care for children during a season of need. We walk with them as they grow into who God created them to be.

And that long walk is only possible because sponsors said yes, and kept saying yes, year after year.

A home is more than a place to sleep.

It's where children celebrate birthdays, do homework, laugh around the dinner table, and discover what it means to be part of a family.

This year, 63 children were living in our Family Homes, each one welcomed by a dedicated widow who raises them as sons and daughters, not as a group to be managed.

For us, care has never been the finish line. Our goal has never been a building; it's belonging. From the moment a baby is rescued, we work toward the best possible future for every child, reunification with family whenever possible, and a loving, Christ-centered family home when it's not.

Because every child deserves more than survival. Every child deserves to be known, loved, and rooted in a family.

Behind every number in our 2026 Impact Report is a person God knows by name.

A baby finding safety. A widow opening her heart. A young adult stepping into the future. A pastor answering God's call. A family being restored.

This year, we walked alongside children from crisis to family, equipped churches across Zambia to answer God's call, and strengthened communities to care for orphans with dignity and hope. None of it happened alone.

Behind every story is a community of people, supporters, churches, families, and our team in the U.S. and Zambia, who chose to walk alongside these children.
That includes you.

The Impact Report is a celebration of what God is doing through all of us together, and a reminder that every child was created to belong.

The success of Orphan Sunday will not be measured only by how many children attend. The more important question is what happens next.

Will churches remember the children they welcomed?

Will leaders continue identifying needs in their communities?

Will families begin to see orphans differently?

Will children find ongoing relationships, discipleship, and support?

A single day can awaken compassion, but lasting change requires continued commitment.

That is why Every Orphan’s Hope sees Orphan Sunday as part of a broader church movement.

The event creates a starting point, but the vision is for churches to remain engaged long after the chairs are put away and the final meal is served.

Every child deserves to be known, loved, and surrounded by people who will walk with them through every season of life.

At Every Orphan’s Hope, we believe family is part of God’s beautiful design. Through caregivers, churches, families, and faithful supporters, children in Zambia are discovering that they are not forgotten.

They are valued, deeply loved, and created with purpose.
Scripture reminds us, “God sets the lonely in families.” Psalm 68:6

That promise shapes everything we do.

From a child’s first days of safety to education, discipleship, and adulthood, our hope is that every child experiences lasting belonging and the love of Christ.

Today, we celebrate Joseph! 🎓

Joseph has graduated from ZCAS University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance!

We have watched Joseph grow from a child into a young man who has worked hard, persevered, and now earned his college degree. We are so proud of him.

And today, we’re also thankful for you.

To every person who has prayed for our children, given faithfully, and invested in their education—thank you. Your support allows Every Orphan’s Hope to walk with children for the long term, from childhood through school and into young adulthood.

Emmanuel is an outgoing, expressive, and confident young boy who brings energy wherever he goes.

Whether he's making new friends, excelling in school, or playing his favorite game of soccer, he approaches life with joy and determination. And if there's rice on the menu, he's one happy kid!
