Proverbs 24:1-2

“Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.

2 For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief

This is why we are told to come out and be a separate people. We should not be like the world but different. We may look at someone still living in sin and think they have it all but remember that what we are seeing is fake and it will not last. They may have the perfect instagram posts and look like they have the perfect family, house, fancy vacations and best car but remember that those material things will rust and rot and families can fake it for pictures.

If you want something everlasting then take your kids to church. Teach them to love Jesus and to love like Jesus. Teach them to be humble and kind. Teach them the power of prayer and the importance of praise. Because when the material things begin to crumble they will still have the Joy of the Lord.

Psalm 116:1-2

“ I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.”

I’m so thankful that God hears me when I pray. He hears me in my sorrow and He hears me in my joy. He listens when no one around me is present and he he sees my struggles when I’m too embarrassed to tell anyone else. Because He hears me, I am never alone.

I’ve been studying the names of God and this week has been El Roi….The God who sees me and I think this drew me to this scripture because not only does God see me when I feel lost and alone but He also hears me in my struggle and distress. The last year has been hard but I’ve never been alone. God has held me in my darkest moments and picked me up when I have fallen. He is there when I call and present when I’m too distraught to call out. He has never left me and I’m thankful that He inclines His ear towards me and will for as long as I live.
