⚡️ ! We have another great mural artist at work in town for the next few weeks. Artist Caroline Truong https://www.facebook.com/CarolineTruongArt will be working on the Shipley drive through wall, thanks to the 161 Development, https://www.facebook.com/OneSixtyOne!

DID YOU KNOW? 🩷
Painting a large mural requires a precise scaling up of the artist’s rendering onto a physical wall. There are several different paths to take to achieve this goal, including the pounce method, by eye or freehand, the grid method, the use of a projector, or the doodle grid/squiggle grid method.

For our newest mural, Caroline is using the doodle method. Doodle grids use a series of letters, numbers, shapes, or a combination of all and can provide several advantages over traditional gridding systems. In addition to saving time, they can accommodate creative unique free flowing shapes instead of being confined to rigid squares of older, more traditional methods of up sizing mural sketches.

It may look like simple graffiti to the passerby, but this design is really so much more and we CAN NOT wait to see what develops! Good luck Caroline with your project and Friendswood thanks you for bringing your talents to our community!

FEF is thrilled to partner with the Friendswood Rotary Club to kick off the second annual 12 X 12 Art Project! The project's mission is to feature the gifts of the artists of today while investing in the artists of tomorrow in our community. The online auction will feature pieces from 38 artists, including several FHS art students and FISD art teachers. All proceeds will be donated to FEF to fund fine arts grants in FISD.

Join us for an opening reception on Wednesday, November 15th, from 5-7 PM at the Friendswood Public Library. Here, you can meet the artists, view the art pieces, begin placing your bids, and enjoy light refreshments from Buffalo Catering and FHS Culinary! 🖼️

Friendswood is getting an original! This wall (located at the 161 Developement - 306 S. Friendswood Dr next to McDs)will be covered in wildflowers and other hidden surprises and we CAN’T WAIT to see it finished!! Thank you to Banfield Properties for making art an important part of the 161 story and for bringing another beautiful installation to Downtown Friendswood.
