The Friend Area Fund is an affiliated fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation. For more information on NCF go to: www.nebcommfound.org.

The Friend Area Fund is working to enhance our quality of life and build a better future by:

*Supporting and strengthening local nonprofit organizations
*Providing innovative ways for donors to benefit their communities
*Identifying needs and making grants in our community
*Participating in partnerships with other community groups
*Providing funding for causes you care about

The Friend Area Fund is dedicated to the improvement and long-term viability of our community and its surrounding areas.

🌏 Friend Area Fund Welcomes Visitors from Australia! 🇦🇺

On Wednesday, August 19, Friend Area Fund members welcomed Jen Djula, Johan Kortenhorst, and Sam Henderson from the Northern Rivers Foundation in Australia for a tour of the Friend community.

The group visited the Binzebo, Friend Learning Center, and Friend Fire Hall to see projects supported by FAF and learn about other grants that have made an impact in our community.

Representatives from the Nebraska Community Foundation joined the visit before the group continued on to Exeter and Fairmont to tour additional affiliated fund projects.

We enjoyed the opportunity to showcase Friend and share how local philanthropy is making a difference in our community! 💙

315 gingerbread man & girl cookies are baked and ready for the Friend Christmas Festival on 12/17! 🫚❤️

A huge thank you to April Braun for generously giving her time to bake and help set up the cookie decorating portion of the festival—we couldn’t do this without amazing volunteers like her! 💛

Come check out the Friend Area Fund Cookie Station in the Welcome Room, right beside the San Carlo Room.
Stop by, decorate a cookie, and share some holiday cheer! 🍪✨

🌽 A Unique Way to Give: Ag Commodity Donations

Did you know you can support the Friend Area Fund by donating grain or livestock?
Ag commodity gifts are a special and tax-efficient way for farmers to make an impact without writing a check.

Because markets and elevators may have limited holiday hours, please make sure all ag gifts are transferred and processed before December 29 to count for year-end giving.

This type of donation not only strengthens our local fund—it also allows producers to give directly from what they grow and raise. 🌾💛

🎁 Thinking About a Year-End Non-Cash or IRA Rollover Gift?

Now is the time to get started!
For your gift to count toward a 2025 tax deduction, non-cash contributions and charitable IRA rollover gifts should be initiated no later than December 23.

The process can take extra time, so beginning early ensures everything is completed before the deadline.
