POV: You spent two days with us at the inaugural SCALE Success Summit. 📸

From exploring Fresno’s small business ecosystem on Day One to coming together for conversations around systems, capital, capacity, leadership, and impact on Day Two, the Summit was filled with moments of learning, culture, connection, and community.

But some of our favorite moments were the ones captured by you.

These attendee photos show the Summit from a different perspective—the conversations between sessions, new relationships being formed, businesses and neighborhoods being explored, cultural celebrations, and the people who made Rooted in the Valley, Rich in Value more than just a theme.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared your experience, and helped make the inaugural SCALE Success Summit something we can continue building from.

The Summit may have ended, but the connections and work continue.

Day Two brought the small business ecosystem together. 🤝

Following our Day One Ecosystem Tour, the inaugural SCALE Success Summit continued with a full day of conversations focused on how we can build stronger, more connected systems of support for small businesses.

The inaugural SCALE Success Summit advanced its mission of strengthening small business and economic development systems by convening capital providers, funders, policymakers, practitioners, and ecosystem partners around five interconnected focus areas: Systems, Capital, Capacity, Leadership, and Impact. Through hands-on learning, ecosystem tours, cross-sector dialogue, and resource-sharing opportunities, participants left with new relationships, practical tools, and actionable strategies to support entrepreneurs throughout the region.

The day also celebrated the cultures and communities that make our Valley unique, including a Native American color guard, recognition of Mexican Independence Day, a Hmong cultural performance, and a Laotian dance performance.

We were also proud to recognize our 2026 Ecosystem Champions: Central Valley Immigrant Integration Collaborative (CVIIC), California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA), and Dawn Golik. 🏆

The Summit reflects a vision developed by Access Plus Capital leadership, supported by the SCALE Fresno Steering Committee, members, sponsors, partners, and community stakeholders. While many individuals contributed to its success, the Summit represents a collective commitment to building a stronger, more connected small business ecosystem for the Central Valley.

Thank you for helping us create a Summit truly Rooted in the Valley, Rich in Value.

SCALE Fresno is sharing this opportunity on behalf of our partner, FPU Center for Community Transformation.

Start-Up Fest is an annual gathering created to connect small businesses with the resources, guidance, and relationships they need to keep growing.

Building a thriving business can come with a lot of questions, and Start-Up Fest is designed to help entrepreneurs gain knowledge, direction, and support from a wide variety of experts across the Central Valley.

The event begins with valuable resources and connection time for small businesses, followed by an afternoon portion open to the public where the community can engage with local businesses, learn more about their work, and support them directly.

Day One of the SCALE Success Summit was all about getting out into the community and experiencing our ecosystem firsthand. 🚌✨

With Rooted in the Valley, Rich in Value as our theme, attendees traveled throughout the Fresno region to meet the businesses, organizations, and community partners helping move our local economy forward.

From Kern Farmers Market and African American Farmers of California to Hmong Mini Mall, Old Town Clovis, Raphio Chocolate, Better Blackstone, Fresno City College, Sun Stereo Warehouse, and more—each stop showed us a different piece of what makes our ecosystem special.

We ended the day at Moses McQueen’s for a networking reception filled with conversations and new connections. 🤝

What a way to kick off our inaugural Summit!

It was an honor to attend the 2026 Latina Women’s Conference as a guest of one of our valued SCALE Fresno partners, the Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. We were inspired by keynote speaker Karla E. Sandoval and surrounded by an incredible room full of powerful Latinas who are making a meaningful impact in their communities every day.

I was proud to share a table with our partners from Education Leadership Foundation and Access Plus Capital. Events like these remind us of the strength, leadership, and collective impact that emerge when women come together to uplift and empower one another.

One of my favorite takeaways from Karla’s keynote was her definition of an unstoppable person:
✨ Remember who you are
✨ Set impossible goals
✨ Don't do things alone, there is power in proximity
✨ Move before you are ready
✨ Raise your standards
✨ Know that you are your greatest asset
✨ Take radical ownership of your life

A powerful message and a timely reminder that growth, leadership, and impact begin with believing in ourselves and investing in the communities around us. Thank you to the Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for creating a space to celebrate, inspire, and empower Latina leaders.

Like so many other parts of California, the Central Valley has no shortage of organizations working to help small businesses succeed. The opportunity now is to connect these partners into a stronger, more coordinated system.

We asked SCALE Fresno partners to share what they do, what they’re seeing on the ground, and why the SCALE Fresno approach matters right now.

Hear directly from Central Valley NBCLC about their work and why they’re part of SCALE Fresno.

Then join the conversation at the SCALE Success Summit, September 16–17 in Fresno, where partners from across the region and California will come together to explore what it takes to build an ecosystem where more small businesses can start strong and scale with confidence.
