**FRIDAY FOCUS | Conversations on a Bench ๐Ÿงก**

What started just two years ago, right here in Fresno with the Fresno Mission, has grown into a powerful movement reaching communities across the nation!

Over the past 24 hours, more than 50 Gospel Rescue Missions came together for **Conversations on a Bench**, a remarkable initiative led by the Fresno Mission that reminds us of the power of simply sitting down, listening, and connecting with one another.

For 24 consecutive hours, missions took their conversations outside, inviting community leaders, individuals experiencing homelessness, advocates, supporters, and everyday neighbors to take a seat and share their stories.

These conversations were livestreamed across multiple platforms, bringing some of our communitiesโ€™ most urgent challenges, powerful testimonies of transformation, and Christ-centered missions to the forefront.

**Because sometimes the most meaningful change begins with something as simple as a conversation.**

We were grateful to be part of this incredible movement and to stand alongside organizations committed to restoring dignity, offering hope, and reminding people that every life has value and every story deserves to be heard.

A special thank you to the Fresno Mission, Citygate Network, and every participating mission for demonstrating what happens when faith moves beyond the walls of our organizations and into the heart of our communities.

**One bench. 24 hours. More than 50 missions. Countless conversations. One shared mission of hope.**

BIG NEWS! ๐Ÿ’œ Beginning October 15, your gift to Breaking the Chains can have TWICE the impact!
Our incredible partners at Producers Dairy have pledged $100,000 in matching funds for our 2026 End-of-Year Matching Monies Campaign.
From October 15 through December 31, every dollar donated has been matched dollar for dollar, up to $100,000.

Theyโ€™ve pledged $100,000. Now weโ€™re asking our community to raise the other $100,000.
Together, we can turn $100,000 into $200,000 to help ensure BTC enters 2027 with the strength and stability to continue showing up for survivors every single day.

๐Ÿ“… Mark your calendar for October 15.
Your gift is about to go twice as far. ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ’™ FRIDAY FOCUS ๐Ÿ’™

Todayโ€™s Friday Focus goes to one of **BTCโ€™s favorite heroes**, Fresno Police Department Lieutenant **Andre Benson!** ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’™

Yesterday, Lt. Benson was recognized as the **2026 Fresno County Community Hero** at the State of the County luncheon, and we couldnโ€™t have been more excited to be there cheering him on!

If you know Andre, you know this recognition is about so much more than the badge he wears. Itโ€™s about the **heart, leadership, compassion, and genuine commitment to people** that he brings into our community every single day.

At Breaking The Chains, weโ€™ve had the privilege of seeing firsthand what happens when law enforcement leads with both **strength and humanity**. Lt. Benson has been a tremendous friend to BTC and to the vulnerable individuals we serve, and he represents the kind of community partnership that truly changes lives.

Andre, we are SO proud of you! This recognition is incredibly well deserved, and yes... I had to point at that award just to make sure everyone knew! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

Congratulations, **Lt. Andre Benson, 2026 Fresno County Community Hero!** ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ†

Thank you for continuing to lead, serve, and remind us what community looks like when we show up for one another.

๐Ÿ† Congratulations to **Fresno Police Department** for taking home the **Battle of the Badges Traeger BBQ Trophy!**

We were also honored to recognize **Clovis Police Department** with the **2026 Freedom Fighter Award**, accepted by Chief Curt Fleming, for their continued partnership in the fight against human trafficking.

๐Ÿ’™ HUGE thanks to our sponsors: **Producers Dairy, Donaghy Sales, JD Food, Heet Trucking LLC, KISS Country 93.7, Refinery Church, Sue Castro, Beth Garcia, Debbie Young and the City of Fresno 250th Celebration.**

To our incredible **BTC team and EVERYONE who worked behind the scenes**, cooked, set up, served, volunteered and cleaned up, THANK YOU! You made this night possible.

And to our **law enforcement partners across the Valley**, especially Fresno PD and Clovis PD, we are so grateful for the work you do alongside BTC all year long.

**This is what looks like.** ๐Ÿ’™

Focus Friday ๐Ÿ’™

There is **so much impact happening behind the scenes at Breaking The Chains**, and today we wanted to give you just a small glimpse into what a day in the life at BTC can look like.

Over the past two weeks, **six individuals have graduated from various programs at BTC!** ๐ŸŽ“ Each certificate represents hard work, perseverance, growth, and another step toward a new chapter.

But one of our favorite moments was a little different. We had the privilege of putting together a dorm-room gift basket and helping one of our participants get settled into her **new dorm at Fresno State.** โค๏ธ From surviving to healing, growing, dreaming, and now pursuing her education, these are the moments that remind us why this work matters. ๏ฟผโžก๏ธThank you Denise ( pictured below)

Because confidentiality is something we hold incredibly close, you wonโ€™t always see the faces, hear the stories, or know the names of the people behind these victories.

**But please know they are happening. Every. Single. Day.**

Behind our doors are celebrations, graduations, new jobs, new homes, college classrooms, restored hope, and people discovering that their past does not have to determine their future.

And if you support Breaking The Chains, **you are part of every one of those victories.**
