If these walls could talk… 💚

These pieces were painted during the 4th Annual Bizare Art Festival in 2017.

By the time we gather again for our next event, these works will be 10 years old… and yet they still speak loud. 💚

That’s one of the things I love so much about looking back through the Bizare Art Festival archives.

Every wall tells a story.
Every piece carries a style, an energy and a moment in time.
And every year, artists have come together to help keep BIZARE’s legacy alive through paint, creativity, culture and community.

Some pieces are tributes.
Some are bold style writing.
Some are collaborations.
Some simply capture a moment in the evolution of an artist and the festival itself.

But together, they all become part of the story.

Looking back at these 2017 walls reminds me how much incredible talent has passed through the Bizare Art Festival over the years, and how blessed I am to have witnessed so much amazing work being created in my brother’s honor. 💚

As we make our way toward the 14th Annual Bizare Art Festival, I’ll be sharing more artwork, memories and moments from throughout the years.

And of course… there is still so much more to show. 💚

Do you remember these pieces?
If you painted at the 2017 event, or recognize any of the artists/work shown here, drop a comment and tag them!

💚 TAKING IT BACK TO THE EARLY YEARS… 2014 & 2015!

As we continue sharing the history of the Bizare Art Festival, we’re going all the way back to where this journey began!

The very first Bizare Art Festival took place in 2014 at Calwa Park, created to honor my brother, Salvador “Lord Bizare” Lujan — BIZARE 68. 💚

And in January 2015, we returned for our 2nd Annual Bizare Art Festival!

Looking back at these photos brings back so many memories!

I was still learning the ins and outs of organizing an event, documenting the artwork, capturing the moments, and everything else that goes into bringing something like this together. And believe me, it was definitely a learning experience! 😂

But one thing was already clear…

The ART, the TALENT, the CULTURE and the COMMUNITY were all there!

Artists coming together to share their creativity, painting pieces and productions, each bringing their own unique style to the walls of Calwa Park.

And here we are, all these years later, preparing for the 14th Annual Bizare Art Festival! 💚

Now here’s where I need a little help from our Bizare Art Festival family!

I’ve been digging through my archives and haven’t been able to locate my photographs from our very FIRST festival in 2014.

SOOOOO… WHO WAS THERE IN 2014 OR 2015?!

Did you paint? Attend? Perform? Volunteer? Take photographs?

If you have any pictures, flyers, videos or memories from those first two years, I would LOVE for you to share them with us!

We’re not just counting down to January 30, 2027…

We’re celebrating all the people, artwork and memories that brought us here.

And keeping BIZARE’s legacy alive through the culture and community he loved so much. 💚

BIZARE 68 — ALWAYS REMEMBERED, FOREVER CELEBRATED!

Before there was a Bizare Art Festival… there was BIZARE. 💚

And before there was ever an event created in his honor, Salvador “Lord Bizare” Lujan — BIZARE 68 was already building a legacy of his own.

Born and raised in San Jose, my brother came up immersed in Hip Hop culture — especially the art form that became such a huge part of his life: Graffiti.

In 1986, Bizare founded LORDS CREW — Legends Of Rare Designs.

For him, Graffiti was never simply about putting paint on a wall. It was art. Expression. Friendship. Culture. Community.

Those relationships grew far beyond San Jose. Artists became friends, friends became family, and that family continued to grow.

Years later, when I lost my brother and created the Bizare Art Festival in his honor, I didn’t want to simply put his name on an event.

I wanted people to FEEL the community he loved. 💚

Artists creating side by side.
DJs spinning.
Emcees on the mic.
BBoys, BGirls and dancers sharing the floor.
Different styles, different generations and different parts of Hip Hop coming together in one place.

Community.

THAT is at the heart of the Bizare Art Festival.

As we make our way toward the 14th Annual Bizare Art Festival, we’re going to continue opening up the archives and sharing more of the history behind the festival — the people, the art, the culture, the memories…and of course, more about the man whose name is on it.

Because to understand the Bizare Art Festival, you have to know a little about BIZARE. 💚

And trust me… there’s a LOT more story to tell.

For those who are new here… let me tell you a little about WHY the Bizare Art Festival exists. 💚

My brother, Salvador “Lord Bizare” Lujan — BIZARE 68 — was the founder of LORDS CREW, Legends Of Rare Designs, established in San Jose in 1986.

After my brother passed in January 2013, I wanted to create something in his honor that would bring together the community and culture he loved and cherished so much.

And from that love, the Bizare Art Festival was born.

What started as a way to honor my brother and his legacy has grown into an annual gathering of graffiti artists, DJs, Emcees, BBoys, BGirls, family, friends and people who simply love Hip Hop culture.

Now, as we prepare for the 14th Annual Bizare Art Festival, I look back at everything that has happened over all these years and realize his legacy continues to do exactly what I hoped it would do…

Bring people together. 💚

Every graffiti artist who paints.
Every DJ who spins on the 1’s and 2’s.
Every Emcee who grabs the mic.
Every BBoy/BGirl who hits the floor.
Every person who comes through those gates.

You become another part of this story.

His name is still being said.
His influence is still being felt.
His legacy is still bringing people together.

And now, as we make our way toward the 14th Annual Bizare Art Festival on Saturday, January 30, 2027, we’re going to share more of the history, the art, the people, the memories and the moments that have made the Bizare Art Festival what it is today.

Some of you have been here from the beginning. Some found us somewhere along the way. And some of you are just finding us now.

However you got here… welcome to the story. 💚

40 YEARS OF LORDS CREW 🖤🎨

Saturday 9/5/26, we celebrated the LORDS CREW 40 Year Anniversary Art Show Opening in San Jose — the hometown of Lord Bizare and the city where LORDS CREW was founded.

40 years later, the family Bizare created continues to grow, flourish and create artistic greatness. Their heARTS can be felt in every piece. ❤️🎨

Seeing Young Bizare larger than life was an emotional reminder of the artist, brother, friend and LEGEND behind a legacy that continues to live, breathe and inspire.

40 YEARS. ONE FAMILY. ONE LEGACY. LORDS CREW.
