This week's scripture is from 1 Kings:
"... for the glory of the LORD filled his temple." (1 Kings 8:11b)

In Solomon's day the glory of the Lord filled the temple, but in our time the Holy Spirit resides within us. If you have come to salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ, then the Holy Spirit lives within you, for the Lord has said that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and the glory of God will shine out of you. Remember who you belong to; remember what He has said and what He has promised. You carry the Holy Spirit of God within you. Overflow with the Spirit and pour out upon others that which He has given to you. Pour out blessing, pour out mercy, pour out healing, pour out the Lord's grace, pour out His love.

May the glory of the Lord shine forth from you today as a child of the living God.

This week's scripture is from 2 Corinthians:

"Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you." (2 Cor. 13:11)

Let us rejoice and encourage one another. When tested by days of uncertainty or strife, we can at times feel troubled and quite alone, but if we are in Christ Jesus, if we are a child of God and we belong to Him, then we are not alone, for in Christ we have a world of brothers and sisters as well as our heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit, for we know that He will never, never leave us or forsake us. Let us therefore be comforted and remember to encourage ourselves and our brothers and sisters in Christ. Let us remember each day to love one another and to pray for each other. Let us not neglect to call upon the Lord everyday for all our brothers and sisters in Christ. Let our prayers reach up to heaven and let the love and peace of God attend us.

May the Lord encourage you each day to pray and keep praying.

This week’s scripture is from Malachi:
The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings. (Malachi 4:2)

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Righteous One. He brought salvation and healing to the world that we might be saved and healed. However, the healing that the Lord provides is not only spiritual healing, healing from sin and deliverance from evil and darkness. The Lord can heal us in all the ways we need to be healed. He can heal us from things that have hurt us or damaged us in our mind, our psyche, as well. Those hurts and scars can run deep, but the Lord can reach down and heal them as only He is able. He starts by calling us to forgiveness, for forgiveness allows freedom from the chains that bind hidden things. The Lord also brings physical healing. He heals our illnesses, injuries, and infirmities. Sometimes He heals us slowly, sometimes He heals instantly. Both are actually a miracle. His healing grace comes from His love for us. For those who belong to Him and have faith and believe in Him are His children, and He watches over us and cares for us – if we will give ourselves to Him and trust Him. If we do, He can set us free from all our afflictions. Let us praise the Lord for His healing touch.

May the Lord bless you to trust in Him and let Him heal you in all the ways you need to be healed.

This week's scripture is from Psalms:

Hear my prayer, O LORD… (Psalm 102:1)

The Lord hears our prayers. Most of us practice daily prayers, and this is good. But when is the last time you poured out your heart to the Lord? Just you and the Lord, holding nothing back, baring your heart and soul? When is the last time you came into the Lord’s presence and emptied your heart before His heart? The Lord calls us His children, for we are His sons and daughters. And He wants us to be close to Him, He wants to hear your inmost heart, for He knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows us. There is nothing you could say to the Lord or admit in prayer that he doesn’t already know, including all your disappointments, sins, pains, and sorrows. He knows everything and He understands and He loves you. But He wants you to draw close to Him, to draw close to His heart for you. Let Him. Get alone with the Lord and pray, pour out your heart to Him. Let Him hear the cry of your heart for He loves you.

May the Lord bless you as you open your heart to Him.

This week's scripture is from Galatians:

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-25)

How good God is; how wonderful His blessings; how great His gifts. He gives to all who believe in Him and are called by His name. He gives His Spirit, and the fruit of His Spirit grows in the believer's life. Cultivate the fruit of the Spirit; prune away everything in your life that doesn't bear spiritual fruit. Embrace the Spirit and let Him embrace you. His fruit comes forth from love. Let His love lead you; let His love bring you to fullness in the Spirit. If we walk in love, we walk in the Spirit, and in Him we have the fullness of Christ, the richness of His blessings, the fruit of God's love.

May His Spirit lead you and may you walk in the blessings of the Spirit.

This week's scripture is from Hebrews:

"For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister." (Hebrews 6:10)

We know we are not saved by works and our salvation does not depend on works, but that does not mean that the Lord forgets about the works done in His name by those who minister in His name. Indeed, He planned good works for you to do before you were born and He knows the love you have shown in His name and the love you have shared in His name. The Lord delights in the good works done in His name to spread His kingdom, to minister in His name, for the scriptures say that some plow, some plant, and some harvest, and the angels of heaven rejoice at every sinner brought to grace. His workers will not go unrewarded, nor will He ever forsake those who belong to Him and serve in faithfulness and love,

May the Lord bless you with the assurance that He has seen your faithful labors.

This week's scripture is from Proverbs:

"Now therefore, listen to me, my children;
Pay attention to the words of my mouth:
Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways..." (Proverbs 7:24-25a)

We strive to follow the Lord each day for we are His children and we love the Lord, for He sacrificed Himself for us that we might have salvation in His name and be redeemed unto eternal life. We read and study the scriptures, and we pray. This is good. Yet the Lord calls upon us not to strive in our own might, but to listen, to listen to Him, to hear Him. Do we listen when we read His word? Do we hear what He is saying? Do we only speak or do we listen when we pray? Do we listen to hear if He responds? To hear Him we must be still. We must quiet ourselves in His presence, and listen. Don't follow the dictates of your heart but follow His heart. Let us lean not on ourselves but on the Lord. And let us listen to Him.

May the Lord bless you as you take the time to listen to Him, to hear His heart for you.

This week's An Encouraging Word:
This week's scripture is from Matthew:

When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.”

But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.” (Matthew 14:15-17)

As you grow in Christ, times will come when Jesus will ask you to do what only He can do. Jesus knew his disciples could not feed five thousand people. We have no supernatural powers or ability, but the God we serve does. When He asks what seems impossible it is meant to bless us, and often to bless others, for the Lord does not ask us to do what we cannot do; He asks us to do what we can do: that is, to have faith, and to pray, to praise, and to believe, regardless how difficult the situation. And when we exercise faith, He is faithful to act, to provide for every need, for He longs to pour out His riches and blessings on those who have faith, who will come in faith, praising and believing, doing good even if things seem impossible. Let us go forth in faith confident in Him who is ever faithful.

May your prayers and praises rise to the Lord and your faith be pleasing to Him.

This week's An Encouraging Word:

This week's scripture is from Jeremiah:
"Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand..." (Jeremiah18:6b)

A lump of clay cannot shape and mold itself; it needs the potter's hands to shape and mold it. It is the potter who knows what the clay should be made into and how it should be shaped by his hands to make it come out just right. Have you truly given yourself into the Potter's hands? The clay must submit to being worked, watered, kneaded, turned, drawn, and ultimately shaped to be made into something useful. Give yourself into the hands of the Lord, for He is our potter and we are but clay in His hands. Let Him mold and shape you into what He created you to be, for that will be the best thing you can ever become.

May you give yourself totally into the Potter's hands and let Him shape you.

This week's An Encouraging Word:

This week's scripture is from Matthew:
"Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.

"Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

"But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” (Matt. 4:1-4)

As we wait upon the Lord and anticipate His return, troubles and temptations arise against all who belong to the Lord, but the Lord is not troubled; He is not tempted. He speaks the truth; He takes up the sword of the Spirit, the word of God, and He strikes down the attacks of the enemy. Let us too take up the sword of the Spirit and boldly proclaim the Word. Quote the scriptures; speak truth to the lies of the enemy; pray in the Spirit; speak and stand on the word of God. Wield the sword in the power of His might and the enemy must give way before the reign and authority of the Lord Almighty. Thank God that He does not leave us defenseless, but we are armed with truth sharper than any blade. Praise God; praise His holy name.

May the Lord bless you to take up the sword of the Spirit and cut down the enemy with the word of truth.
