Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America's veterans for all their sacrifices with a memorable, safe and rewarding TOUR of HONOR; transporting our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect in front of their memorials. The Central Valley chapter is currently raising funds to charter planes that will send our veterans to Washington, D.C., in commemoratio

n of their sacrifice and service for our country and freedom. Join us as we treat these deserving men and women on a final tour with honor. Veterans make quick visits to their military branch memorials: US Navy Memorial Plaza, Marine Corps War Memorial, Air Force Memorial and National Museum of the United States Army.

Two female veterans on board , had the opportunity to visit The Military Women’s Memorial where they received special certificates and explored the exhibits.

Each stop held significance for various reasons. Our vets especially enjoyed seeing; the Lone Sailor Statue, Iwo Jima flag raising statue, the stainless steel spires reaching 402 ft, and the immersive film, “Of Noble Deeds” in the Army Theater.

After a long day the crew will end their evening with a special dinner.

The World War II Memorial pays tribute to 16 million US service men and women along with the 405,399 who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The completion of this memorial in 2004 was the motivation behind the original Honor Flight, that took 12 veterans from Ohio to see the newly opened site in 2005.

Today, Central Valley Honor Flight has continued the mission bringing 2,353 veterans to DC to see their monuments. Many honored family members who served in WWII.

CV Honor Flight veterans started their first big day in DC with a private tour of the US Capitol that included a special police es**rt from the hotel.

Highlight for many, was sitting on The House floor hearing from some of California’s top leaders who took time from their busy schedule to host the group.
Next up is the WWII Memorial.

Central Valley Honor Flight #35 lifts off for their three day journey to Washington DC with 68 veterans on board, August 31.

This flight represents 26 hometowns in 12 counties, and ages ranging from 70 to 91.

2 women & 66 men representing Army (30), Navy (20), Air Force (11), & Marine Corps (8). Their years of service cover every year from 1954 through
1998 with 2 serving during the Korean War Era & 66 in uniform during the Vietnam War Era.
