With the continued support of our wonderful donors we have now exceeded awarding over 250 Grants to pediatric oncology patients and families at Valley Children’s Hospital. Our most recent in 2026 was to a wonderful nine year-old who has been battling neuroblastoma since he was 17 months old. He has relapsed three times and is now considered stage four. Malik is an amazing fighter and is currently in school getting caught up on so much time he has had to miss. He is full of energy and is a ray of sunshine with his beautiful smile!  HHIF was happy to provide him and his sister brand-new beds, complete with headboards and bedding along with a gift card to Target for a shopping spree! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting his wonderful family and pray for many blessings to come.💛🙏🏻✝️

On December 19, 2025 we were able to make a very special Grant happen for a beautiful 12-year-old girl battling osteosarcoma , not once but three times…. Most recently resulting in having her leg amputated. Naomi is a beautiful and courageous young girl.  Her faith, attitude and determination is beyond inspiring. She also has a twin sister and a large family of siblings! Her wish was to have her bedroom that she shares with her sister made into her dream bedroom. We had so much fun designing the makeover- given the small space we had to work with it was a challenge!  We want to thank ALL of our WONDERFUL donors that make Grants like this possible💝Naomi and her sister were very excited with the outcome and the joy we felt doing it was priceless💝 Our thanks also to our newest board member and official interpreter, Maria Ingley for her special help & support with this project! Good news 🎊! The U.S. House of Representatives just advanced a key bill that will help children with blood cancer by:
➡️ Ensuring studies for possible new treatments are completed on time
➡️Boosting funding for and incentivizing critical pediatric cancer research
…and more!

Thank you to the volunteer advocates who have tirelessly urged their lawmakers to pass this legislation. Step by step, we’re making progress.

Now, onto the Senate. We urge them to pass the Mikaela Naylon Give Kids a Chance Act quickly, without delay. Kids with cancer can’t wait.

HHIF was proud to be again, a Platinum Sponsor of the 10th Annual Valley Children’s Hospital Childhood Cancer Survivorship Conference with close to 200 in attendance!💛The theme this year was “Mission Possible” ”Survivors Leading The Way” and was led by Alistair Robertson-social worker extraordinaire and Director of the program! Alistair and his staff are true blessings to VCH and bring such enthusiasm and hope to patients and their families. We were thrilled to be greeted by two past grant recipients -Reagan who is now graduated from the nursing program and starts work Monday at Valley Children’s Hospital and Leslie who we took to the Harry Styles concert! So wonderful to see them again and thriving! The day was filled with entertaining videos, inspirational survivor speakers, a wonderful lunch and breakout sessions filled with information about navigating survivorship. Dr. Gates made a surprise entrance this year! Logan Feist, a neuroblastoma survivor entertained us with his extraordinary magician talents! Wow!
HHIF was thrilled to award a grant to a beautiful 12-year-old young lady battling osteosarcoma. Her wish is to have a bedroom makeover and we are excited to make that happen! Naomi has been in this fight since 2020 and has had three relapses and most recently an amputation. Her strength, faith & courage is truly remarkable and to say she is inspirational is an understatement. 🙏🏻✝️💗 Naomi also has a twin sister and a total of six siblings! It is a true blessing to know them. No one fights alone. Please keep this beautiful family in your prayers. 💛

In addition to our grants, Hunter’s Hope International Foundation awards two $1500 scholarships annually to students in the VCH Survivoship Program. Our first of 2025 was awarded on April 18th to a wonderful young man, Owen Noriega. Owen is a junior at Fresno State majoring in Biology and wants to pursue Forensic Science. He has an impressive bio and also has a passion for giving back to those in need in our community. His cancer journey began when he was 6 and diagnosed with leukemia. Through the many tough years he developed strength, courage and determination and has now turned that into purpose to live his best life! We are so proud of you Owen and it was our privilege to award you the scholarship! We wish you all the best life! Hunter was in town from Washington DC to present the award and had a wonderful surprise himself thanks to Alistair Robertson. Three special guests came out for the presentation- Dr. Vonda Crouse(Hunter’s original AMAZING oncologist 24 years ago), Dr. John Gates (another favorite and longtime oncologist & genuinely GREAT human) and Kim Ling (Hunter’s FAVORITE BEST OF ALL TIME nurse and mutual Yankee Fan💙)!!! It was truly a special day and reunion💛  Once again we were reminded how very blessed we are to have Valley Children’s Hospital in our community.

The Christmas Season is typically such a joyous time, especially for children and their parents🌲Unfortunately, many children throughout the Central Valley can’t celebrate these special holidays as they would like to as they are dealing with a life threatening cancer diagnosis. Beginning TODAY on GIVING TUESDAY, Hunter’s Hope International Foundation (HHIF) is starting our fundraising campaign throughout December to help those courageous children.

We have a tremendous opportunity to brighten their spirits and let them know they are not alone in their battle. I personally know just how much this can mean. Our mission is to bring “hope and help,” and we are proud to have awarded over 215 Grants to date. From financial aid to major necessities and wish list items such as laptops, XBoxes, special concerts, music instruments, shopping sprees, and even a very special puppy! There is no greater joy than partnering together to bring smiles to these beautiful faces at a traumatic time. On September 21st , Valley Children’s Hospital held the 9th Annual Pediatric Oncology Cancer Survivorship Conference. Hunter’s Hope International Foundation was honored to be one of the sponsors again. This year‘s theme was “Rooted in Resilience” - a perfect theme for all those who have been on this journey. This event started initially with about 50 participants and is now over 170 !!HHIF also presented a surprise grant to Giovanni Gutierrez! Giovanni has wanted a new drum set as he is part of his high school marching band and church’s worship band as well! We were excited to present him with a financial grant to purchase the drum set he would like and wish him many years of musical blessings! It was Giovanni’s lucky day as he also won the raffle prize we had donated!!
Many thanks to Alistair Robertson , Director of the survivorship program, Jill Cielnicky for assisting us with the florals and the whole staff and AMAZING speakers for a wonderful day filled with information and inspiration! It was also great to see Dr. Vonda Crouse who treated Hunter 23 years ago💛💛💛

Today HHIF were proud Gold Sponsors of The Fresno Truck Childhood Cancer Survivorship Conference at Valley Children’s Hospital. The Howard Family was honored for their generous contribution to this program which will help for years to come💛 Big shout out to Dr. John Gates & Alistair Robertson and his team for continuing to be a valuable resource and inspiration to survivors and their families. It was a wonderful day filled with powerful speakers! There were close to 150 in attendance!  We had the pleasure of awarding a Grant to Darvin Baroi - a wonderful young man who wished for financial assistance to purchase materials to build a gaming computer!! This guy is going places in life!! He was diagnosed at age 7 with leukemia, and is now going to celebrate his 16th birthday in October!! We wish him continued success in his studies, and may all his dreams come true! We were fortunate to meet his lovely family as well! 💛💛💛💛 Thank you VCH for this wonderful and inspirational day!

💛 September is here! For many children that means back to school, soccer and football games, seeing friends after the summer, dance classes starting again, Fall carnivals and festivities…. but for children with cancer that means blood draws and needles, chemotherapy and being miserable, isolation from friends and family, lumber punctures and hospital stays…. The fear of living or dying. Remember that and keep them in your prayers please🙏🏻💛🙏🏻  💛
