To all Knights and supporters,
Knights Gathering 2024 in San Francisco during the Up Your Alley weekend is a go and our host hotel is the Courtyard by Marriott San Francisco Union Square! The link and information is below. The location isn't super ideal, but it is near buses to where we need to go and given the popularity of the weekend, we were offered a decent price on the rooms. I've never stayed at this location before and while the rooms are somewhat small, they don't seem as minimalistic compared to the hotel I usually stay at most years. A room of 1-2 people with taxes is about $185 a night, with $10 extra a night for each extra person up to four. I believe the block of ten rooms is split into five rooms with a king-sized bed, and the other five with two double-beds. Please determine the appropriate room for your needs. The last day to book is June 26 and I may send a reminder out to those sitting on the fence.
Let me know if you are attending Gathering and getting a room, or attending and sharing a room, or want to attend but need to find someone who could take you (we'll ask around and see who can take you in - a staple of Knights hospitality.) Even if you are unable to attend this year, please let me know that too. As for myself, I haven't quite determined which room to get depending on requests.
There is no set schedule for Knights Gathering and individuals are free to do what they want. Only some members need to attend the Interchapter Meeting. Generally all members should attend the Formal Dinner, though it is open to all.
Maybe by June, I will send out an email to those attending with information on the weekend including travel, suggestions, places to go, etc. Flight prices to SFO are pretty good right now so I'd jump on that before they increase! If coming by car, I think there is off-site hotel parking but it is $60-70 a night. If by Amtrak train, I think it stops in Emeryville and you just take a bus into the city.
While I don't have every Knight's email, feel free to forward this to members in your chapters that I missed and would likely be interested in attending. 🙂
