Cue the celebration! Hinds LifeCare is proud to bring home Bronze for both Best Hospice and Best Thrift Store in this year’s Fresno Bee’s Best of Central California Contest! 🥉🥉

This recognition belongs to every person who makes our mission possible. From our compassionate care teams and dedicated thrift store staff to our incredible volunteers, loyal shoppers, generous donors, and supportive community, this is a true team achievement. Every donation, every purchase, every vote, and every act of support helped make this moment possible.

We are beyond grateful to everyone who continues to believe in and support Hinds LifeCare. Thank you for helping us serve our community with compassion, purpose, and heart. We’re honored to celebrate this win together, and we couldn’t have done it without you!

This month we are honoring two amazing bereavement volunteers for our Saturday Spotlight, Jennifer and Leevon Xiong. We are so grateful for the amazing support they offer our Angel Babies' families. 🥰

Get to know them below:
What are your roles at Hinds Hospice, and what inspired each of you to volunteer?
We are peer facilitators for the Angel Babies support group. We were inspired to volunteer because we are angel parents ourselves, and the support we received made a huge impact on our grief journey. We have two angel babies, Brandon and Phoenix, whose names can be found on the butterfly wall. We are also part of the Wild Ones team for the Angel Baby Walk, and every year we try our best to be one of the top teams.

What are your favorite individual hobbies?
Jennifer: Creating things with her Cricut, especially memory bears for angel baby families.
Leevon: Building models, collecting, gaming, and photography.

What is your favorite family or couple tradition?
Honoring each of our babies’ birthdays with family and bringing their little stuffed animals along with us on trips and adventures.

If you could travel anywhere together, where would you go and why?
Japan, for the amazing food, amusement parks, and to explore everything the country has to offer, together.

What does volunteering together mean to both of you?
Volunteering gives us the chance to give back for all the support we received and to be advocates for parents going through difficult times, reminding them they are not alone.

What is one fun or surprising fact about each of you?
Leevon: Shares the same birthday as Harry Potter.
Jennifer: Got to experience her very first trip to Hawaii this year while celebrating her birthday with Leevon.

A simple visit can make a profound difference. 🩵

Our patient care volunteers provide companionship, comfort, and a caring presence to patients during some of life’s most meaningful moments. Whether it’s sharing stories, listening, reading aloud, or simply sitting together, these connections bring comfort and dignity when it matters most.

We’re currently seeking compassionate patient care volunteers to join our team and make a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve.

On this Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who served our country and are no longer with us. Their sacrifice, courage, and dedication will never be forgotten.

The poppy remains a powerful symbol of remembrance and hope, inspired by the resilient flowers that bloomed across battlefields and the legacy left behind by our fallen heroes. ❤️🇺🇸

Today, we remember and honor those who gave everything for our freedom.
