Fresno Dixieland Society is happy to announce our 2026 Sunday Dances. The first Sunday Dance will be Sunday September 13. Please note that all 3 dances will be on Sunday instead of what we previously had announced. The Music will be Digital/Recorded played by DJ Alfredo. Our first theme will be the always popular Sock Hop Dance. Enjoy the music of the 50’s and more. We will provide a few treats but you will also be able to purchase food from the Elk’s Lodge. The Elk’s Lodge has promised a special menu. We will try to obtain their menu before the dance. Please support the Elk’s Lodge.

We want these dances to continue. These are always fun. Bring your friends. Spread the word. The more the merrier. Alfredo

The Music world has lost a beautiful soul. Her vibrancy and beautiful smile will be missed.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and longtime singing partner, Valerie Marston.

For more than 30 years, Val, Paula, and Leigh shared far more than a stage. We shared a life: practicing around the kitchen table, sharing long car rides to gigs, rehearsing, laughing, inside jokes, missing words, being strong and wrong, learning to move with each other’s thoughts, breaths, and words, and experiencing countless moments when music harmony brought us together and lifted our spirits.

Through every season, Val was our lead singer, our cherished friend, and an irreplaceable part of our trio. Val loved to sing and was better than I think she knew. We celebrated successes, supported one another through challenges, and created memories we will treasure forever.

Many of you knew us through our music, but behind the scenes was a friendship that grew stronger with each passing year. Val’s warmth, spirit, and kind presence touched every part of that journey.

We are heartbroken by her loss, but deeply grateful for the gift of three decades of music, friendship, and shared experiences. As we remember Val, we smile through tears at the songs, the audiences, the sisterhood, and the joy of sharing our music together.

Thank you for your support and for being part of our journey. Please keep Val’s family and loved ones in your thoughts. They are hurting. We know many of you are mourning alongside us.

Val’s beautiful voice and the memories we shared will live on in our hearts forever.
