Agricultural Development for Armed Forces Pre-Deployment Training (ADAPT) is a specialized workshop for U.S. military personnel that provides practical, hands-on training related to village-level agricultural and water resource assessments. Department of Defense, ADAPT instruction centers on appropriate

mitigation and remediation projects that can be accomplished using local knowledge, skills, networks and resources (hand tools) within short time frames and minimal budgets. This experiential, quick impact training is intended for those units undertaking deployments to at-risk, fragile communities where food security plays a key role in stability. ADAPT students who have taken the course (more than 2,000) come from all U.S. Geographic Combatant Commands and have subsequently deployed to regions across the globe armed with fundamental skills in agricultural assessment and intervention.
