We had a team of members from our club who decided to enter the Feature Booth contest this year. The theme is Find Your Adventure. Their take on that was a pirates treasure map that leads them to the treasure of Resilience, Confidence, Friendships, Responsibility, Teamwork, Confidence.. by visiting the stops on the map, ie, their project meetings for livestock, reptiles, cooking, sewing, communication, arts and craft, ect.
They had a great plan, but the Amazon package with most of their supplies did not show up in time. On day 2 of the install, it became apparent that they needed to shift their plan a bit. So they painted old wooden Jenga blocks to look like the gold bricks that would go in their treasure chest. They send an adult to the store to find replacement jewels and anything they may be able to use to pull off the original idea. The adult came back with butcher paper, that they used for the background, small cardboard boxes, paint supplies, and a wooden crate that they used for the storage crates and some dollar store greenery that they turned into a palm tree using the cardboard tube from the butcher paper roll. Its not the prettiest feature booth they've ever done, but the jewels they acquired through the process are priceless. The major lesson was, time management and ordering supplies a lot sooner. 🥰 4-H Learn By Doing. 🍀💚🍀
