November 2012 Dinner Meeting - Our dinner meeting next month will be held on Thursday, November 8 at 6:00PM (note the time change!) at the Vineyard Restaurant & Bar in Madera. The training program will be on Wastewater Treatment Cost Reductions through the Use of Solar Electricity (REC Solar). Also, the tour before the November meeting will be at the City of Madera WWTP Solar Plant. The tour is expected to run from 4PM to 5PM. See directions and location in the attached flyer. Hey Operators! CWEA is offering a Wastewater Treatment Certification Exam Review course in association with the American Water College. The class runs from Sept. 17th-18th (Grades 1 and 2) and 19th-21st (Grades 3, 4, and 5) in Fresno. Each day goes from 8AM to 4PM. Hey Operators! Check out this 1st come, 1st serve training opportunity through the Willow International Community College Center of Reedley. The SCCCD is recruiting students for the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 semesters. The program is designed to prepare students to take the Wastewater Operator Certificate Exams for levels I, II, or III depending on experience. Dr. Wright will be talking to us about his discovery of the source of taste and odor problems from the local drinking water treatment facility (spoiler alert... it was a sneaky form of algae!) and their recommended solution.
