The Ripple Effect Initiative is just beginning, and we are so proud of the work accomplished so far. This community-driven effort focuses on helping ensure the Central Valley has a strong local water workforce for generations to come. Through this initiative, we have mapped water projects, jobs, career pathways, and training programs across Fresno, Kings, and Tulare counties to help create a clear path toward water security and economic opportunity. We are not only focused on safeguarding rural communities’ ability to ensure ongoing, successful operation of their local public water systems, but also to grow a thriving water workforce for the wide range of water-focused organizations so critical to the rural and urban communities that make up our beautiful Central Valley. Kings Water Alliance manages four free fill station locations throughout Fresno and Kings counties. Bring an empty container to a fill station and take safe, accessible, free drinking water back to your home. Containers must be 5 gallons or less. There is no limit on the number of containers you may fill.

We recently passed another milestone on our mission to ensure everyone with a private residential well in our service area has their water tested for Nitrate levels.

1,500 free well tests completed to date by the Kings Water Alliance team is worth celebrating. We are proud of this milestone but know there is a lot of work left and many wells that still need testing.

We made some waves (pun intended) at our second Ripple Effect Initiative roundtable last week. Industry professionals collaborated with workforce and education representatives in the mosaic room at Central Valley Community Foundation to discuss tangible plans for building awareness of the huge range of professions the local water sector offers and the need for developing clearer career paths in Water. The room was abuzz with energy, ideas, and excitement. Here are some thoughts that emerged from the discussion. Our grateful appreciation to everyone who participated. Last week in Visalia, we kicked off the first Ripple Effect Initiative roundtable, where local workforce and education leaders came together to explore new pathways to careers in the water sector. "When I signed up for my marketing class this semester, I had no idea how much I would get out of it. My name is Kevin O’Neill, and along with my three teammates, Brian Le, Emma Mendez, and Isabella Holist, we spent the semester volunteering with Kings Water Alliance (KWA), a nonprofit dedicated to providing safe drinking water to rural Central Valley residents who rely on private wells for the water in their home. What started as a class requirement quickly became one of the most meaningful parts of our semester."
