A Heartfelt Farewell
After over 18 years of service—13 of those as Executive Director—I have made the hardest decision of my life. My time with the Down Syndrome Association of Central California (DSACC) will come to an end on April 11, 2025.
This organization has been more than just a job—it has been my heart, my purpose, and my home. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve, support, and walk alongside so many incredible families, businesses, and community members. DSACC has given me the opportunity to witness the power of inclusion, the strength of advocacy, and the beauty of lifelong friendships.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to Denise Allshouse and the DSACC community for welcoming me with open arms and believing in a younger, way less experienced me when I was first offered this job. Your trust, encouragement, and guidance have shaped me into the leader I am today, and I will forever be thankful for that opportunity.
I have met some of the most inspiring individuals—families who have shown me the true meaning of love and resilience, self-advocates who have redefined what is possible, and community partners who have stepped up time and again to make the world a better place. The relationships I’ve built and the memories I’ve made will stay with me forever.
At this moment, I don’t know exactly what the future holds, but I do know one thing—DSACC and all the families I have met will forever hold a special place in my heart. And while I may be stepping away, DSACC’s future is bright. The passion, dedication, and love within this community will continue to create meaningful change for years to come.
To every family, friend, and supporter who has been part of this journey—thank you. Thank you for trusting me, for allowing me to be part of your lives, and for showing me what true community looks like.
and Y'all, before I ride off into the sunset, let’s wrangle up some fun one last time at Wranglers and Wishes! Join me for my final hoedown with DSACC—it’s not goodbye, just a rootin’-tootin’ send-off! April 4th 6-10pm at Wolf Lakes, grab your seat at https://www.wishes.raisely.com
