City Without Orphans Until we are a city without orphans...

To witness the redemptive, collective power of government entities, faith-based organizations, and individual families, partnering together to affect life change for the vulnerable children of our community until the day that Fresno is truly a city without orphans.

We’re excited to share that City Without Orphans is now partnered with CarePortal and The Well Community Church!

Together, we can meet tangible needs right here in our CWO community: the practical, everyday resources that make a real difference. We believe families deserve more than just to survive. They deserve to thrive. This partnership lets us come alongside them with exactly what they need, right when they need it.

September is full of small, consistent gatherings that all add up to huge relational impact! Coffee with other moms, a shared meal, an evening to engage with other parents doing the same foster care & adoption work.

This month brings several different chances to show up in community, whether that’s for yourself, for a family you know, or for a young adult figuring out what’s next.

Looking back at August: three Moms Meetups and Support Groups, three Family Dinners, multiple families accessing new experiences through community donations, a water day full of fun, and continuous weekly support for youth through The Closet and The Landing. None of this happens without you!

Whether you gave, volunteered, prayed, or referred a family our way this month, you are the “surrounding” in one city, surrounding families. Thank you for making this month, and this city, a little more like the one we’re building toward. Here’s to September!

Looking back at our Family Dinner with the D’Souza family and Sunnyside SDA, and looking forward to something worth sitting with: every year, young people across Fresno age out of foster care without a permanent family waiting for them. That’s exactly why our Youth in Transition branch exists.

The Landing, The Closet, and the Future Ready Initiative are our answer to that gap, one relationship at a time.

Moms, dads, aunties, grandparents, and kids connected to kinship placement, adoption, or foster care: you’re invited!

Join us this Thursday evening for a workshop and support group gathering. We’re partnering with Action Community Church on a monthly basis to offer friendship, practical training, and a place of rest for anyone in the adoption community.

Big week for our CWO moms! Tomorrow morning, grab a coffee and join the Morning Moms Meet Up at EZ/47 Coffee Shop; casual, low-key, and full of women who get what it feels like to be a mother.

Then Thursday, our monthly Support Group with Action Community Church rounds out the week with Andi Lambert and Dr. Ashley Phelan. Two chances to show up for yourself this week, foster and adoptive moms. Come as you are to either one; details in our bio!

Table’s set. Tonight’s Family Dinner with the D’Souza’s and Sunnyside SDA is underway, and we could not be more grateful for hosts who turn a Friday night into a place where our young people get to belong. This is Branch Two in its simplest form: showing up, sharing a meal, and reminding someone that they matter. Thank you to everyone at the table tonight.

Meet Branch Two of CWO: Young Adult Support for youth in transition, ages 16 to their early 20s, who’ve been impacted by foster care, adoption, or out-of-home placement of any kind.

At The Landing at City Center, that looks like The Closet for clothing, hygiene items, and home supplies, a Study Corner with a computer lab, baking classes in the kitchen, mentors over coffee in the Living Room, and our Future Ready Initiative and Ambassador Program building real skills for what’s next.

Open weekdays, 10am to 5pm. Come as you are; you’ll be greeted with open arms. Swipe through to see the space built just for you.

Our third Family Dinner of the month lands this Friday, hosted by the D’Souza’s and Sunnyside! Same idea as always: a full table, a warm meal, and young people from The Landing who get to just be there, no strings attached.

If you are a part of a church, a business, or just have a heart for this, hosting a Family Dinner is one of the easiest ways to show up for youth in transition.
Details in our bio, or message us to host your own.
