Sunday reflections. 🤍 This quote hit me right in the heart.

Raising three boys and two girls means our house is constantly moving at top speed. Between managing my full-time job and keeping track of five different schedules, the laundry really is never-ending, and the noise level is definitely five times as loud! 🌪️

But as exhausted as I might be by the time Sunday evening rolls around, this beautiful chaos is exactly where I am meant to be. Every unique personality, every sensory need, and every loud moment just brings five times the love into our home.

Shoutout to all the mamas in the trenches of big family life today. We might be running on fumes and Everyday Dose coffee, but we wouldn't trade it for anything! ✨

👇 Roll call: How many kids are bringing the beautiful chaos to your house? Drop a number in the comments!

Do you ever look around at the beautiful chaos of your house and think... wait, am I the one with ADHD? 🌪️🧠

We spend so much time building visual routine charts, setting dopamine timers, and perfectly curating a sensory-friendly environment for our neurodivergent kids. We are absolute experts at helping them manage their executive dysfunction.
Meanwhile, I just spent ten frantic minutes looking for my phone... while I was holding it in my hand. 📱🤦‍♀️

Between managing work all day and coming home to coordinate the schedules of three boys and two girls, my brain constantly feels like a computer with 47 tabs open, and music is playing from one of them, but I don't know which one.
We give our kids so much grace when their brains get overwhelmed or distracted. We need to remember to give ourselves that exact same grace when we leave the laundry in the washing machine for three days straight!

Let’s normalize the fact that surviving motherhood requires a lot of scattered energy. We are doing the best we can! 🤍

👇 Spill it in the comments: What is your most recent "mom brain" moment? Make me feel better!

¡Hazme sentir mejor!

The hardest part of the day isn't the morning rush. It’s the 5:00 PM After-School Meltdown. 🌪️🎒

Transitioning from a demanding shift straight into the after-school rush with five kids is... a lot. But for an ADHD brain, that transition is even harder.

If your neurodivergent kiddo holds it together perfectly at school all day, only to completely fall apart the second they get in your car or walk through the front door—you are not doing anything wrong.

It is called Restraint Collapse.

They have spent the last 7 hours masking, following rules, and managing sensory overload. When they finally get back to you, their safe space, their brain just lets it all out. It looks like tantrums, sibling fights, and refusal to do homework, but it’s really just exhaustion.

Here is how we survive it in our house:

🍎 Zero demands for the first 30 minutes. (Homework can wait!)

🎧 High-dopamine snacks and sensory rest. (Snack plates and quiet time).

🛑 No big questions. ("How was your day?" is too much pressure. I just say, "I am so happy you are home.")

You aren't a bad mom, and they aren't bad kids. We are all just decompressing. 🤍

👇 Does your kiddo experience the after-school collapse? How do you handle it?

I used to think the sudden, massive spikes in hyperactivity were just a normal part of the ADHD package. Then I looked in our pantry. 🛑🖍️

A while back, I started hearing about how artificial food coloring (especially Red Dye 40) can dramatically affect kids with ADHD, acting like gasoline on a fire for their developing brains.

Honestly, the idea of overhauling the snacks for a busy household of seven felt completely overwhelming. But I decided to start reading labels and quietly cut the artificial dyes out of our meals.
The difference was night and day.
The impulsive spikes softened. The after-school meltdowns became manageable. But the absolute best part of this journey hasn't just been the change in behavior—it has been teaching my son to be conscious of what he puts into his own body. We talk openly about how certain ingredients make his brain feel fast and foggy, and how others make him feel strong and focused.

Now, he actually checks labels himself. He understands his own brain and advocates for his own health. Taking food dyes out of our house wasn't just a diet change; it was a massive shift in peace for our whole family.

Have you ever noticed a connection between food dyes and your kiddo's behavior? 👇

Summer is almost here! ☀️
With longer days and more free time, screens can easily take over. While technology has its place, kids also benefit from plenty of opportunities to move, create, explore, connect, and simply be kids.
Finding balance doesn't have to be all or nothing.

Small changes can make a big difference in helping children build healthy habits, strengthen relationships, and enjoy all the adventures summer has to offer.

They didn't teach us this kind of math in school! 📉😂

Raising a big family and managing ADHD brains means you have to create a whole new system of time, space, and logic.

ADHD Mom Math is also knowing that 5 minutes of unexpected quiet in the house equals exactly 2 hours of cleaning up whatever mess is currently being made. 🫠

It’s a wild, loud, and beautifully chaotic life, but honestly, I wouldn’t trade this crazy math for anything.

It takes a village, and sometimes that village lives right here on our screens! 📱🤍

Raising a neurodivergent child in a big, busy household means constantly looking for new tools, fresh perspectives, and voices that just get it. We cannot do this alone, and we shouldn't have to!

I had to share this post today from an incredible page I follow: Empowering Kids Media - Books & Mental Health/Wellness . It is run by a child therapist and mom, and she shares some of the most practical, validating tools for children's emotional regulation and mental health.

This specific post really hit home for me because it perfectly explains how anxiety can look like a big after-school meltdown. It gave me such a great perspective on how I can help all my children to build confidence.

I want to turn the comments section of this post into a master resource directory for all of us. Let's build our virtual village together!

👇 Who is your favorite digital creator, therapist, or parenting page? Tag them in the comments below so we can all go follow them! >
