When Perry came to us, his family was heartbroken. They were facing deployment and could not take him with them. The thought of returning Perry to the shelter was devastating especially knowing that because of his dog to dog aggression his chances of survival were slim.
That is when Dog Heaven LLC stepped in.
Perry was taken in loved and never given up on. One of the co workers worked tirelessly to help him safely integrate into a pack. He learned how to trust again. He played every day with his dog friends hiked in the mountains ran through the woods and splashed in the lake. He lived fully. He lived freely. He lived knowing he was safe.
Because of community support and donations Perry was given his very best life until he passed away this year from cancer surrounded by care dignity and love.
This is just one of the many many reasons The Underdogs powered by Dog Heaven exists.
Dog Heavens mission is simple and powerful. To protect dogs who are overlooked misunderstood at risk or out of options and to give them not just a chance to survive but a life worth living. We step in where others cannot. We say yes when it is hard. We walk with dogs all the way through their journey no matter how complex it may be.
