We’re in danger of running out of the humans willing to keep climbing into ambulances.
Think about that.
The ambulance can be replaced.
The stretcher can be replaced.
The equipment inside the ambulance can be replaced.
Call after call.
Overdose after overdose.
Car wrecks.
Suicides.
Cardiac arrests.
Sick kids.
Violence.
Death.
Then clear the call.
Clean the truck.
Re-stock the truck.
And get ready for the next person having the worst day of their life.
We keep asking:
“Why is the ambulance taking so long?”
Maybe we should also be asking:
“How much longer can the people inside those ambulances keep doing this?”
We don’t just need more ambulances - We need more members.
“Never forget there is a human behind the uniform.”
"Never forget there is a human behind the wheel."
We will be staffing internally October 1, 2026. Atlantic Health will no longer provide daytime coverage. We are looking into paying staff so your 911 emergency call is not delayed. That cost will be expensive.
We need volunteers at night and during the day. Please reach out if you would like to volunteer!
