We had over 70 chess girls playing in the 2026 Fremont All-Girls Chess Championships on Sunday April 26, and almost 20 parents/siblings played in the the Simultaneous Exhibition with Swagatha Selvam. Many thanks to US Chess Women Grant in making this event possible and free. We would also like to thank Chess.com for sponsoring 1-month free ChessKid Gold membership to every player in this event.

We would like to thank our club volunteers: Chief Tournament Director Pranavi Pramod, Guest of Honor Woman FIDE Master Annapoorni Meiyappan, Simultaneous Exhibition host Swagatha Selvam, Tournament Director Zhipeng Li, Gautham, Rashmi, Deepika, Pramod, Raji, Jay, Richa, Jamie, Rama, Terry, and many other volunteers that's impossible to enumerate here, altogether made this event possible and successful.

We would also like to thank Coach Wei Liu (our long-time friend, and mentor to the MSJE Chess Program), Abel Talamantez, Eric Lai (Emerald Hills Chess), Alex Robins (Mechanics' Institute Chess Club), Coach Stephen Shaughnessy (The Berkeley Chess School), Coach Demetrius Goins (Shoreview Chess), Coach Gary Scheppler (AllStar Institute) for encouraging their students to play in our event yesterday.

Trophies and medals arrived earlier over the weekend, and will sit here for nine weeks until your daughters come take them home at Warm Springs Community Center on Sunday April 26th. Meanwhile, the poster is updated to show these trophies. Thank US Chess gain for the US Chess Women grant.
