Yesterday, Fremont Police Association members and FPD K9 Bodhi assisted the Union City Police Department during a high-risk incident involving a stolen vehicle and wanted suspect.

Throughout the incident, officers demonstrated patience, professionalism, and a commitment to de-escalation. Responding officers utilized time, distance, communication, and coordinated resources in an effort to safely resolve the situation while reducing risk to the public, officers, and the suspect.

Officers spent a significant amount of time attempting to negotiate with the suspect and worked diligently to bring the incident to a peaceful conclusion. When compliance was not achieved, officers utilized less-lethal tools and K9 Bodhi to safely take the suspect into custody.

This incident highlights the difficult decisions officers make every day and the importance of training, teamwork, and measured responses during rapidly evolving situations.

The Fremont Police Association is proud of the professionalism displayed by our members and the members of the Union City Police Officers Association. We are grateful for the strong partnership between Fremont PD, Union City PD, and the assisting agencies that work together to keep our communities safe.

This week, members of the Fremont Police Association were honored to recognize the incredible nurses of Washington Hospital Healthcare System during National Nurses Week as they arrived for work yesterday morning. Alongside our partners from the Fremont Firefighters Local 1689, we had the opportunity to thank the nurses and healthcare professionals who work tirelessly to care for our community every day.

From long shifts to difficult moments behind the scenes, nurses continue to show compassion, professionalism, and dedication in everything they do. Thank you to all nurses for the sacrifices you make and for always going above and beyond for others. Your efforts do not go unnoticed.

While the community slept, our members on Midnights were out handling a dangerous situation. A suspect stole a UPS truck, led officers on a pursuit, and ultimately barricaded himself inside.

What followed was a lengthy standoff that required coordination, patience, and a strong focus on de-escalation. Our members worked to slow the situation down, communicate, and create time and distance to bring it to a safe outcome.

Members of our Special Response Team responded from home to assist, ultimately helping bring the incident to a peaceful resolution.

Thank you to our regional partners at Milpitas PD, Union City PD, and Newark PD for their support during this incident.

This is what you don’t always see the long hours, the callouts, and the commitment to keeping Fremont safe, no matter the time of day.

Supporting Our Public Safety Family. Please Support Jenni Cavallero

Friends, colleagues, and supporters, today we come together to support former Fremont Police Department dispatcher and current Santa Clara dispatcher, Jenni Cavallero.

Jenni has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) and is facing a long road ahead that includes intensive treatment, a possible bone marrow transplant, mounting medical expenses, and time away from work to focus on her health.

We are asking our law enforcement family, first responders, and community to come together and support her fight. If you are able, please consider donating to her GoFundMe and helping ease the financial burden during this difficult time.
