The Friendship City Program is a sister city relationship between the cities of Yahaba, Japan and Fremont, Michigan.

Links have been maintained since 1992 through ongoing exchanges in art, agriculture, business, culture, education, and athletics.

The Journey Back! Yahaba, Japan 2027!
The Friendship City Program is organizing an adult alumni trip for students who previously traveled to Yahaba as 8th graders or high school students. This is a chance to walk familiar streets again and reconnect with the people and places that made an impression on you. Experience Japan as an adult, and share the experience with others who remember the journey just as you do. We'd be remiss to not thank John Carlson for taking such good care of us on the last day. Lunch pictures are probably more exciting than repackibg our luggage and checking in for the flight. Thanks so much John!!

This morning there were a few tears but lots of good will between Yahaba and Japan. Many memories and friends were made. Next Tokyo then home! See you again Yahaba.

Yesterday was a busy one! Students gave their presentations for the community, had a conversation time, tried our hand at making sushi, and made mochi. At the end we were served "Fremont Potato". They sell these French fries and a portion of the profit goes back to the program. 🥰

On Thursday, the Fremont delegates had the opportunity to meet with the Yahaba Mayor. They were able to share stories from their time in Japan. 🇯🇵
