This week at Rotary, we had the opportunity to hear from the team at P & R Drone Solutions LLC — an innovative local business changing the way agriculture gets done across Northwest Ohio!

The Ridener triplets shared how their company has grown in just three years from a small operation into a six-person team serving farms throughout Ottawa, Wood, Sandusky, and Seneca Counties, with work expanding into Bellevue, Erie, Port Clinton, Lorain, and possibly even Michigan and Indiana.

Using advanced GPS-guided drone technology, P&R Drone Solutions can spray up to 90 acres in just one hour, typically flying only 10 feet above the ground for precision fungicide application. After creating field boundaries in their mapping system, the drones are able to calculate and fly their own paths at speeds up to 45 mph!

The presentation also highlighted the extensive regulations and certifications required in the industry, including Commercial Applicator Licenses, Remote Pilot Licenses, and federal flight exemptions. The long hours and dedication behind the scenes were evident, and it was inspiring to see young entrepreneurs combining agriculture and technology in such an impactful way.

Thank you to P&R Drone Solutions for giving Rotary a fascinating look into the future of farming and precision application!

Our Club celebrated an incredible Anniversary Dinner Tuesday night 1812 Food & Spirits! The evening was filled with gratitude, generosity, and community pride! 💙

One of the highlights of the evening was presenting a check for $1,893 to Walleyes for Wounded Heroes! Through the support of our members and community, at our recent Reverse Raffle, we raised $1,393 and proudly added an additional $500 to further support this meaningful cause. What an amazing way to give back!

We were also honored to present our “Service Above Self” award to Mike Shadoan. Mike truly embodies this motto. His dedication to reinvesting in our community—revitalizing properties, restoring buildings, and leading efforts in downtown and economic development—has made a lasting impact on our town. His vision and commitment continue to inspire us all. Congratulations Mike!

It’s moments like these that remind us how powerful a community can be when people come together with a heart to serve. 💫

Our guest speaker this morning was David Theil, the Marine Biology Teacher at Oak Harbor High School.

Mr. Theil instructs students on the distinctions between fresh and saltwater ecosystems. The class participates in field trips to local sites, including the Portage River, Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve, and Maumee Bay, just to name a few.

Additionally, the class embarks on an educational trip to the Florida Keys to study the saltwater ecosystem. Mr. Theil also emphasizes the importance of conservation and environmental stewardship by organizing beach cleanups at each location.

Thank you, Mr. Theil, for presenting a fascinating program and educating our future generations about the significance of preserving our planet's natural beauty.🐟🐠🐡Bcs Schools
