🌱 Rotary Speaker Spotlight: Molly Avers, Ohio State - Ottawa County 4-H & Ottawa County Fair Queen Rachel 👑

Our Rotary meeting welcomed Molly Avers from the Ohio State University Extension – Ottawa County 4-H Program, who shared an inside look at the incredible work being done through both traditional and non-traditional 4-H programs.

Ottawa County 4-H currently includes 358 members, 18 clubs and 101 Cloverbuds, with hundreds of youth participating in projects ranging from livestock and agriculture to coding, science, cooking, yoga and more! Molly shared that the non-traditional programs alone have reached roughly 330 youth, with 19 teachers already signed up for the 2026–27 school year.

We were also excited to hear from Ottawa County Fair Queen Rachel, who shared about her experience representing the fair and the importance of agriculture, youth involvement and community.

Thank you, Molly and Rachel, for giving Rotary a closer look at the many ways our community’s young people are learning, growing and leading! 💚🍀

We were honored to welcome Katherine Eboch, Rotary District 6600 Governor, as our guest speaker!

Katherine opened with the powerful story of the “Healed Femur”—the idea that one of the earliest signs of civilization is evidence that someone cared enough to help an injured person survive and heal. She connected this beautifully to Rotary’s commitment to compassion, community and caring for others.

Katherine also shared her own Rotary journey, which began as an Interact student and has included serving as club secretary, emerging leader, and multiple terms as club president. She reminded us that Rotary creates lasting change across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

We also learned she’ll be riding on the Rotary International Float in the Rose Parade! 🌹

And, of course, we had to admire her amazing Rotary jacket covered in pins from around the world—weighing more than 10 pounds! 😳

Thank you, Katherine, for sharing your passion for Rotary and reminding us that compassion and community are at the heart of what we do. 💙💛

This week, we’re excited to welcome AJ Cecil as our Rotary speaker! 💙💛

AJ will shared with us about the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at Oak Harbor High School and the incredible impact this ministry is having on our students at Oak Harbor High School.

FCA is creating opportunities for students to grow in faith, build relationships, encourage one another, and learn what it means to live out their faith in everyday life. With weekly meetings, prayer, messages, fellowship and student participation, FCA has become a consistent force for good in our school.

We’re especially excited to hear about the lives being impacted and the students who are finding their way to Christ through FCA.

Thank you, AJ, for sharing this important ministry with our Rotary Club! 🙏

🎤 Rotary Speaker Spotlight!

We were excited to welcome Ashley Spangler, Head of Student Career Readiness at North Point Educational Service Center, as our Rotary speaker!

Ashley shared about the important work happening through North Point ESC to help students prepare for life beyond the classroom — connecting students with career opportunities, workplace experiences, and the skills they need to succeed. 🎓💼

We loved learning more about how North Point is building connections and creating impact in the lives of students throughout our communities!

Thank you, Ashley, for joining us and sharing your passion for helping students Connect. Learn. Grow. Succeed. 💙💛
