This year marks a historic milestone as our nation celebrates its 250th Anniversary. We are proud to be part of this special community event and would love to have our families join us as we celebrate freedom, inclusion, and the strength of our special needs community.

By marching together, we can proudly showcase the spirit of FCSN and raise awareness about the importance of creating a welcoming and inclusive community for individuals with special needs and their families.

At our Zoom meeting on June 5, 2026, we will welcome Paulina Garcia, SSA Business Policy Implementation Specialist of County of Santa Clara, to present a topic of “CalFresh Food Program”.

During this presentation, families will learn about the purpose of the program, eligibility requirements, application process, and available food assistance resources for individuals and families in need. This will also be a great opportunity to better understand community support services and ask questions directly to the presenter.

We sincerely hope everyone can join us for this meaningful, supportive, and informative presentation.

💚 Thank you to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors for passing the Measure W Project, and to David Haubert for giving Friends of Children with Special Needs the opportunity to be one of the four agencies participating in this meaningful program!

We are proud to help distribute $100 grocery gift cards to families with special needs in Alameda County, providing practical support and care to our community. Every gift card represents kindness, support, and hope for families who need it most. ✨

FCSN remains committed to supporting individuals with special needs and their families while building a more inclusive and caring community together.

FCSN is hoping to raise $30,000 to expand our culturally sensitive programs and outreach to the ever-growing special needs community.

We are now in the third week of the Give In May fundraising campaign and have reached nearly 10% of our $30,000 goal. To help us get closer to the finish line, five generous donors agree to offer a $5,000 dollar-for-dollar matching fund. Every donation made by May 26 will be doubled, up to $5,000, turning it into a total of $10,000 in support for our programs and families.
