What an incredible evening celebrating philanthropy in Sandusky County! 🎉

We are so excited to announce that this year, the Sandusky County Communities Foundation distributed $93,960.10 to 16 deserving organizations! These distributions are helping make a difference right here in our communities, and we couldn't be more excited to celebrate the amazing work being done!

It’s World Mental Health Day.

Sometimes, what people need most isn’t advice, an answer, or a solution. It’s someone willing to listen. Someone who makes space for them to be honest, asks questions with genuine curiosity, and offers the quiet reassurance that they don’t have to navigate everything alone.

In a world filled with noise competing for our attention, outrage demanding our reaction, and distractions pulling us away from one another, perhaps one of the most meaningful things we can do is slow down.

Be curious instead of judgmental. Listen to understand rather than respond. Make room for someone else’s story, even when it differs from your own.

And remember to care for yourself, too. Give yourself permission to rest, to set boundaries, to step away from the noise, and to reconnect with the people and things that ground you.

Sometimes, a quiet conversation, a thoughtful question, or simply being present can make more of a difference than we realize.

Take care of yourself. Check on someone else. Make room for humanity.

We need one another.

Call me old-fashioned, but I still love getting mail. There’s something special about an unexpected letter — especially when it’s a thank-you.

At SCCF, we’re grateful every day for the people who give, serve and invest in our community. So when a thank-you comes back to us, it means a little extra.

We’re officially just 14 days away from our Annual Celebration of Philanthropy!

This evening is about so much more than gathering for dinner. It’s about celebrating the people who believe in Sandusky County, and who choose to invest their time, generosity, and hearts into making it an even better place to call home.

Join us as we celebrate local organizations receiving grants made possible by generous donors and philanthropists throughout our community. You’ll also meet our new Executive Director and Board members and hear from the Sandusky County Youth Foundation about the meaningful work young people are doing in their schools and communities.

Come enjoy a wonderful dinner, connect with others who care about Sandusky County, and celebrate what’s possible when a community comes together.
