A Simple look...
The Hub Center is an exciting Remote Control (RC) Racing and Youth development organization in Fremont, Michigan, which has invigorated youth and adults alike through the interest in remote control racing. Now in our fourth year, we have seen some pretty cool things develop. In spring of 2017, the Hub Center worked with the City of Fremont to build an RC Race feature (Branstrom Raceway Park) in beautiful Branstrom Park. In addition, We have provided RC Workshop Programs with Daisy Brook Elementary, held community races, picnics and on-site demonstrations, renovated facilities, and made visits to local medical care facilities. These are great ways to share the fun and excitement of RC with our neighbors and to develop skills of students along the way.
It is these efforts that help develop dreams in kids, through an interest in electronics and remote control vehicles, which serves as an educational gateway to electronic engineering and more. RC racing offers all participants not just the chance to be a kid again, but also the opportunity to help kids live out their dreams and invigorate their visions, through the fun and excitement of remote control cars.
As we approach Summer of 2020, there are some very bright horizons. We have been asked to join the Mighty Sports Enterprises group and the Peace Lacrosse the World Campaign to saddle RC Racing events alongside Boxing and Lacrosse events around the country and around the world. This will allow students to be trained in many elements of RC Racing, RC Mechanics, and Event production. The skills and experience gained in these events will provide practical life skills that have immediate application and will last a lifetime.
The key to what we do is our weekly workshops. It is here where we put controllers in people’s hands and teach them how to control an RC vehicle. We then put tools in the hands of students and let them inspect, repair, and maintain hobby grade RC’s. Workshops are currently held Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:30pm - 8:30pm at 10 E Sheridan St, Fremont, Michigan. These weekly gatherings allow for continued skill development and team building.
